When I returned to the house, I was barely surprised to see Jinx sitting in the living room, her legs crossed as she lounged on the couch. Luc and I had decided it would be better for me to leave before sunrise, in order to meet Lee as soon as he woke up for the day to search for our hybrid. He intended to see if he could find more information before the sun took him for the day and I had left the vampire with a smile and a kiss, promising our next date would be more fun.

I frowned as I closed the door, my heart pounding as I considered facing the witch. I had also wanted to confront Jinx privately, without Lee stepping in and it was clear she felt the same way, since she was waiting for me.

"So," The witch started, not turning to look at me as I took off my jacket, stretching my poor feathers. "What did you learn?"
