Confusion

"Adam?" I repeated, my heart now pounding with the same fear and concern that was showing on the vampire's expression. "The creator of humans Adam?"

"I'm surprised you didn't recognize his voice." Luc whispered and I shook my head as I tried to take in what he said. "He lives in Heaven, doesn't he?"

"Never met him. I had no reason to seek him out and I was always more concerned with Sarai." I sighed, my confusion only mounting. A deity being involved would explain how Evan was still alive, but it also made everything way more complicated. With Adam on their side, this cult had way more power than I thought they might and to what end? What was the goal in all of this? What in the world was Adam trying to accomplish? "How do you recognize his voice?"

"I've… met him before." Luc revealed softly and I couldn't help my surprise.
