The Extra System: Summoner of Shadows

"Teacher, why does the Church call summoners evil?" The priest’s voice was grim. "Because they defy the gods. They summon horrors that devour worlds. It is not just power—it is corruption given form." A student hesitated. "But could one not use that power for—" “Silence!” The priest’s eyes burned with fervor. “There is no redemption for a summoner. And now, they speak of the worst of them all—a Summoner of Shadows. A heretic who will plunge the world into eternal darkness. He is the epitome of evil, and when he rises, he will destroy us all.” ————————————————- [New Extra Character Registered… Cedric Everhart.] [The Extra System has initiated.] Awakening as Cedric Everhart, ninth prince and prisoner, he carries a curse: the most reviled class in existence—[Summoner of Shadows]. Ascension Forge

Arturo was hesitant, of course, but Cedric gave him enough time to think about it. This decision would dramatically change his life, and it would be a matter of no return.

Of course, Arturo was not given any details. He didn't know about their plan to assassinate an archbishop. If he did, he wouldn't even think about the matter since it was suicidal either way. At best, he would run away from the tournament.

Cedric allowed him to leave but reminded him about the shadow nonetheless. Arturo watched as a new shadow was summoned, and it dissolved beneath his feet. Then, the guide left.

"Are you sure about this?" asked Morrin with a frown. "Even if we kill him before he reveals the truth, we would be in a bad spot if a shadow kills him."

"Oh, that was a lie. I still cannot keep monitoring him the entire time," Cedric said with a shake of his head. "I just made him believe that would be the case."
