Chapter 5 : Unexpected Challenges and Surprises on the Job

Maria turned towards me and said, "Thank you for coming to help me." I smiled at her and replied, "No problem, it seems to be my job." Maria continued, "If you can fix my bike, I'll owe you a big one." I approached her and said, "I'm sure I can fix it; I'll take a look later." She laughed and said, "Thank you. I'll see you later."

"No problem, see y..." I couldn't even finish my sentence before Audrey interrupted and told Maria, "Come on, Maria, let's go." The two girls entered the house, and I stood there for a moment.

 Then Lorus came out of the house, saying, "Hey, Rick." I replied, "Yes?" He started talking, "I wanted to ask you to park your truck in the garage over there. Trim the grass around it. Park the truck inside; the mistress doesn't like seeing cars in the front yard." I replied, "Okay, understood. Is there anything else?" He said, "Yes, when you're done, come inside. I have another job for you." I said, "Alright, I'll be there."

 Lorus entered the house while I headed to the garage, took out the lawnmower, and thought, "Let's see how these things work." Okay, two pedals and a steering wheel, that's easy. After finishing, I went to get the truck. In my house, I was used to leaving the truck outside in winter and wind. It seems you've undergone an upgrade, my old friend. I brought the truck into the garage.

Alright, I'm done with this too. Now I'll put the lawnmower back in its place and go see Lorus for the details of the next task. When I finish, I'll check Maria's bike later. I walk towards the house, thinking, "Now I know Liza; I've met Audrey and Maria, who live here. I also know Lorus, and there must be a maid somewhere here. And there's also the mysterious mistress I haven't met yet." 

I opened the door and entered. Hmm, the palace looks completely unsuspecting from the inside... I called, "Lorus? Lorus? I mean, Alfred, Alfred? I was told to come here. Hello?" Alfred came out of a room and said, "Come this way." I stared and said, "This hallway is somewhat strange, and why is it so clean?" He replied, "The maid doesn't like clutter in the hallways." I was surprised and said, "What? Who cares about what she likes or dislikes? She's just a maid."

 Ignoring my words, he said, "Please, come from here." It's great if I don't want to work. Can I just do nothing and get paid? Now I'm learning from the maid. I headed to the room, and when I entered, I found Liza lying on the bed, waiting, so I greeted her, "Hello again." She said, "Hello, weirdo." Lorus interrupted us and began, "Miss Liza told me there's some noise coming from her bed; it's annoying." Liza spoke, "Oh yes, and I thought maybe you could figure out where that noise is coming from." I replied, "Yes, of course. I'll see what the problem is." Lorus went towards the door and said, "Leave the door open, and don't try anything foolish." I was puzzled and said to him, "What are you talking about?" Liza intervened, saying, "Lorus , fuck off, thank you. Rick here will figure out the issue."

Her direct words and crude language caught me off guard. Those words made me burst into laughter, "Hahaha," and she started laughing too, "Hahaha." I lifted my eyes and noticed Lisa looking at me with a smile. I felt a slight embarrassment, but it quickly faded. This girl is trouble... big trouble. 

I approached the bed and asked her, "What's the problem with this bed?" She replied, "It makes an annoying sound like a squeak, squeak when I jump on it." I responded, "Maybe you're not supposed to jump on it." At that moment, I wasn't sure if she was trying to impress me in some way or if she was sincere. So I said, "I think Lorus is free." She laughed, "Hahaha." Is this really the girl I picked up? She was silent before, but now she's something else. I went down under the bed to investigate.

 While I was below, I asked her, "Are you really the girl I picked up earlier?" She replied, "I had a bad day, or rather a bad morning, but now I'm fine and back to my good mood." I decided to engage in conversation with her and asked, "What happened? If you want to talk about it." She said, "Look where we are, in the middle of nowhere. I want some interaction, but there's not much to find here." I understood what she meant, "Hmm... I got it. I've had the same feeling." 

She asked, "What's up with you? Why did you want to come to a place like this?" I answered, "I wanted to change my routine, and the pay is insane." She said, "Ohhh... so you're not like the guy before you." "Wait, was there someone before me?" I asked in surprise. Then she said something strange, "They must be trying another way to get closer." I asked in amazement, "What do you mean by that?" She said, "Let's just say the last guy wasn't paid well enough to do everything." I replied, "With the amount of money I'm being paid, I can build another palace if you ask me." She said, "I hope so." 

After a while, I came out from under the bed, saying, "Alright, I'm done." She asked, "Did you fix it?" I replied, "There was nothing to fix in the first place. Stop jumping on the bed. I wish there was something I could do, but there isn't." She smiled and said, "At least you tried, and we had a fun discussion." I smiled and said, "Yeah, we did."

 She pushed me towards the door, saying, "Okay, leave now. Lorus must be right behind the door, eavesdropping." We started laughing together. I left the room but didn't find anyone. I stood in the hallway and thought. If there was a man before me, but for some reason, he couldn't stay long. I mean, I know it's tough; you're far from everything, but still, it's not that bad—crazy salary, girls. I'll stay. 

I remained standing, then heard someone humming a song behind the door, so I approached the door. Someone is truly talented at singing... I wonder who it is...
