Gianna's distaste for Kai wasn't a personal one and in all honesty I was to blame. The history of the elf clan was almost as vast as the Etrenal Empire, In fact some thought that elf's inhabited the continent long before humans and the only reason we were unaware was because of how secluded they were.
In their prime the elf clan was a force to be reckoned with. Although they weren't physically strong they had massive mana reserves that dwarfed even the most talented of humans, They weilded earth and illusion magic making them truly terrifying to face if you weren't in an open clearing.
As the fall of Eternal Empire grew closer and countless lives were lost the Queen of the elf's chose to stand at the Radient Emperors side. Perhaps it was due to the long bonds they shared over their extensive history's or maybe she feared what could happen if I was left unchecked, But such a decision was the wrong one and led ultimately to her defeat.
The elven forest was the safest route between my territory and that of the Eternal empire. The Queen refused my request of passage and said that if I stepped foot in the forest then she would resist my efforts, In all honesty I could have traveled through another route even if it would have taken longer. I guess at the end of the day I just wanted to see how strong the Queen of the elf's who had lived for almost a a thousand years was, She was a very feisty woman but she definitely didn't disappoint.
'Should I pay her a visit?' I hadn't went to see her for a couple of months since I had been busy trying to find someone to fight.
As I fought the Queen Kai was leading the army against the rest of the elf's, He suffered quite a bit at their hands but eventually succeeded with my orders. Most of the elf's were killed in their resistance while the remaining ones were captured, As for what happened to them let's just say they've taken to the entertainment industry slightly against their will.
Gianna was a Dark elf who was ostracized not only by humans but also her own kind, Yet despite that she still held love toward them. Which is the reason Gianna disliked the young man in front of me who had lead the attack on her people, You truly couldn't blame him since I was the one who gave the orde but she could never hold animosity toward me so he was left to be the bearer of her wrath.
"Don't worry I'm sure she'll come around eventually" I patted his shoulder with a voice of encouragement despite not even believing my own words.
"Yea…" Kai didn't seem very convinced as he glanced toward the direction Gianna left with complicate eyes.
"As for why I wanted to speak with you" He gazed back at me and his expression changed into one of seriousness.
"It's regrading the rebles in the Eternal Empire" I nodded starting to walk toward the palace while gesturing for him to follow.
"They've gone under ground after Empress Valentina's lastest attack but our intelligence network picked up something" Kai matched my pace making sure to walk just a step behind although I didn't ask him to.
"What is it?" I asked slightly curious as we passed through the large palace doors that towered toward the sky.
The interior was just as majestic as the exterior and had a crimson radiance that put me at ease. The walls were engraved with murals of the ancient beings that had once roamed the continent. Demon's and Giants stood across from one another in battles while the four gods hovered above staring down with apathetic eyes, I'm sure that if we were in the Holy empire such artwork would be considered sacrilegious and the creator would be killed.
"The rebels held a secret meeting a few days ago" I raised any eyebrow at the piece of intelligence as my feet glided against the marble flooring.
"From what we gathered the second party was from one of the barbarian tribes" Kai spoke neatly and I could feel his gaze as if he was waiting for my reaction.
"The barbarian tribe?" I couldn't stop the smirk that filled my face causing the young man to noticeably flinch.
"That is very interesting…." My heart beat picked up slightly and a feeling of excitement traveled through my body.
Neither those pathetic barbarians nor the remnets of the Ethernal Empire were worth any of my time, But if the two were working together then maybe it would be a different story. The barbarians could be quite fun to fight against if they were provided with what ever artifacts the rebels had hidden away.
"Watch from a distance but don't interfere" I licked my lips and calmed my excitement so that I wouldn't get to disappointed.
"Your majesty?" Kai had a questioning expression obviously not understanding my decision.
"It will be easier to deal with them if they make a move together" I answered calmly and came to a stop as we reached the end of the murals.
'….' Of course I couldn't tell him that I wanted the two to team up and give me a bit of fun.
"I see" Kai nodded seriously like I had said something profound making me feel slightly guilty.
'He's really gullible isn't he….' I couldn't help but think that might be the reason why I trusted him so much.
"Anyway where's Dawn?" I asked with curiosity wondering where my third wife currently was.
"She didn't come greet me" I watched as Kai's expressions turned stiff before he let out a soft cough.
"Empress Dawn is…sleeping in the garden" Kai hesitated as he answered while his words left me speechless.
"It's not even seven yet…." I muttered letting out a deep sigh before patting him on the shoulder once again.
"Watch for any movements from the Holy Empire" I ordered not bothering to wait for a response as I walked away in the direction of the garden.
"Yes your majesty!" Kai yelled from behind with an enthusiastic voice while saluting me respectfully.
'It's always nice to have loyal slaves…I mean subordinates' I glazed over my original statement in a shamlesss manner as I put my hands in my pockets.
