By the time Elysia opened her eyes, it was already morning. Azreal lay beside her, his head buried in the crook of her neck, inhaling her sweet scent of fresh roses and honey. His fingers gently caressed her soft, curly red hair, which was spread out on the pillow.
"Are you okay, Azreal? You didn't return until early this morning," Elysia muttered, her hand trailing over the large dragon tattoo inked on his bare back.
"I was busy with my affairs. The guards had something to show me, so I had to check it out," he replied, his hot breath fanning her neck, sending shivers down her spine.
"Oh," she sighed, closing her eyes again. She stretched on the bed before asking, "What about my governess? Has her innocence been proven? I'd like to believe she's not as bad as the situation makes her out to be. She's a good woman," Elysia said, attempting to defend her governess.
