His fingers, firm but teasing, gripped her waist, pulling her against his body. “Do you know what happens to those who defy me, little pet?” His voice was low, dripping with dark amusement. He leaned down, his lips hovering just above hers, close enough for her to feel his breath but not close enough to touch. “They beg.”Elysia’s pulse quickened, her breath catching as her body betrayed the fear melting into something far more dangerous. A Trip To The Market

It had taken quite a lot of begging from Elysia to get the King's permission to visit the market. Finally, he accepted and had Sevastian escort Elysia to the market to feed her eyes.Today was a Saturday and her governess sent in a letter that she was unwell and could not leave her house. That meant there was no lesson for Elysia today.

Elysia felt sad that her governess was ill, but she was really excited to visit the market. When she was younger, she loved going to the market with her mother. It would be a good time for her to clear her head and see other normal people like herself.

The sun was hot despite it appearing like it would rain soon from all the clouds gathered in the sky. Elysia and Sevastian strolled through the narrow streets of the market. The lively chatter of vendors filled the air, punctuated by the occasional clink of metal or the soft whinny of horses tied to nearby posts.
