“Well, if you’re not, call me. I may be able to sneak out for a minute, but if all else fails, we’ll order from Sardonia’s and pass it off as your own. I don’t think Howard goes there often because it’s on the other side of town and he likes Magnucci’s, or at least he used to.”
“I appreciate it,” Jason said, remembering a few nights that he and Howard had been at Magnucci’s. Had Marjorie and Gene watched the kids a few of those nights?
“Well, I’m glad to help. Once again, if you need me, call. If not, I’ll check on you tomorrow.”
“Thanks, Marjorie. I owe you one, or more like several.”
“We can talk about that later. Enjoy your night.”
Jason continued to scroll through his texts after he and Marjorie were off the phone. When he reached the video for how prepare the meal, he burst out laughing. Marjorie had sent him a video entitled “Sketti” that was meant to teach small children how to cook with their parents. Well, at least she understood his skill range.
