They were the same color as her favorite semi-precious stones, amethysts.
These stones represented wisdom and peace, they were used to protect against negative energies and to fight against anxiety, fear and anger.
Whenever she felt alone or distressed by her powers, she had the habit to take an amethyst stone in her hand, which she always kept on her nightstand, and looked at it until she felt better.
Suddenly, looking at his eyes, she felt her heart beat faster, she felt her cheeks starting to get hot and something was wrong with her stomach, she remembered then the expression having a million butterflies in her stomach and that was exactly how she felt right now.
What the hell, thought Cassy, how could she feel like that just by looking in his eyes, as if she was bewitched by his charm… Well, she had never seen anyone as handsome as him, but it was still so weird…
Carol, after making the introductions, didn't seem to realize that these two were staring at each other more than what was necessary, and even if she had noticed it, she would have imputed it to curiosity.
She then told the boys to settle down and get to know Cassy because she had to talk to her husband. Cassy's case was really unique and she didn't know if she could talk about it in front of them.
Cassy, once Carol and Glen had left to probably talk about her, focused on the boys and she saw a white aura around them that was brighter around Steven than Adrian.
She wondered if this represented their level difference and suddenly, when she focused more on Steven, she saw something purple appear on his wrist, and she then received a message from her Divine Mage System directly in her mind.
[Warning, this is a extremely powerful seal made by a legendary Mage]
A seal? But for what? And who was Steven if a legendary Mage had to put a seal on him…
As usual this System didn't answer her questions and so she focused again on the conversation.
She had let Paige tell the story of how they met, because she didn't know what she could tell or not tell them, and she saw her lied to her brother and Steven without any remors on her true identity, using the story of this orphan girl.
After that, the boys were looking at her shocked by her story and she said to them to reassure them, "Forget it, I'm never going back there anyway."
She looked more specifically at Adrian as she said to him, "Your mom offered to take me in and I guess she's talking to your father about it right now."
Adrian really didn't know how to react with Cassy, her story was pretty horrible and it didn't surprise him that his mother had offered to take her in, because his mother was like that anyway, so he asked her, "What are you going to do then if you don't want to go back to your village?"
Cassy smiled at him and then she winked at Paige before saying, "I'm going to become a Mage and I'm going to get into the same Academy as the both of you."
Steven then spoke for the first time and he had a deep, magnetic voice that fit him perfectly and she couldn't stop her heartbeat from quickening again, "You sound very confident Cassy, but not all Mages can enter the Academy of Catara."
He had told her this not to discourage her but so that she wouldn't be too disappointed if she didn't make it, and Cassy surprisingly smiled at him and she then asked him her eyes full of curiosity, "What do you have on your right wrist?"
Steven didn't know why she was suddenly asking him this question but he showed her the Mark that everyone who belonged to the Dragon clan had, and he explained to her that it was like a birthmark.
Cassy then frowned, Steven was from the Dragon clan and he had this powerful seal on his wrist made by a legendary Mage… Could it be that he was the strongest Warrior she was looking for.
Was this why the Divine Mage System had asked her to follow Paige?
She stood up to approched him to examine his Mark more closely, and she could see the Dragon tattoo that went around his wrist and seemed to be done in green ink, as for this strange purple seal, it was superimposed with his tattoo.
She then asked him out of curiosity, even if she already suspected the answer, "Do you know that there is a purple colored symbol superimposed with your Dragon birthmark?"
Steven and Adrian looked at her in astonishment and Paige then asked her excitedly, "Cassy, can you draw this purple symbol you see on his wrist?"
Cassy nodded and Paige immediately brought her a pen and paper and she began to draw the seal she was seeing on Steven's wrist on the coffee table.
Paige then exclaimed when she had finished drawing it, "Damn, it's a seal and a complicated one with that, wait for me I'll be right back."
She took the paper from Cassy's hand and she quickly disappeared down the hallway that Carol and Glen had taken earlier.
Cassy didn't even have time to confirm to her that it was indeed the seal that she had seen before she left, and Steven then frowned and asked her while she was still looking in the direction Paige had gone, "Can you really see that symbol... Or seal on my wrist?"
Cassy looked back at him wondering if she was right or not about him, and so she told him honestly, "Yes, I really can see it, it's right there."
Cassy then accidentally touched the seal while showing him where it was.
She didn't expect it.
She really didn't think she could touch it as she was the only one to see it.
But just as she touched it, she heard the now familiar sound of the System sending her a message, and she saw it appear in her mind.
