Natalie did not seem surprised to hear that. She overheard part of Gracey's words before she pulled the door open
"Even if you want to die, you should choose an easier way, eat some food so you would be able to think clearly," Natalia said and handed the food to her again.
Gracey looked at the food and felt a bit helpless. She had wanted to die since those men brought her back but hearing Natalie's words for the first time, she was not thinking of killing herself.
"Eat, from a medical point of view. Our brain functions best with the right nutrients. Moreover, do you think you can die if the Devil does not want you dead?" Natalie asked.
"What do you mean?" Gracey raised her brows.
"What else? If you successfully kill yourself, it means that was what the Devil wanted in the first place. So if you want to die, you have to eat in order to think of the best way to die quickly," Natalie said.
Gracey did not know what she was thinking, but she collected the food and started eating. When Whitney saw this, she turned to her friend. She was surprised when she first started encouraging Gracey, but seeing Gracey eat so seriously, She finally understood that she was saying so many things to get her to eat her food
The two ate quietly, and they were soon done.
"We should leave the hospital today. The more we stay, the more money we will spend," Gracey said.
"I will ask the doctor. Kelly stays with your sister," Whitney said and got up. Natalie followed after her. "I heard you stubbornly donated blood for your sister even when your condition was not suitable?" Natalie asked.
"Her blood type was not available in the hospital. She could not wait," Whitney replied. She did not regret her decision, even if she felt weak and dizzy after the donation.
She did not think she did anything wrong by risking her life to donate blood to save her sister.
"Is that so? What if you have died? Then who would take care of Kelly?" Natalie asked. She knew that her friend did not care for her own life, so she could only bring up Kelly.
It was fine to donate blood if she was fine, but the nurse clearly noticed that it would affect her, but she did not listen.
"Stop nagging, I am fine, so you don't have to worry," Whitney said. It's not that she did not care about her life, but when her mother was dying, she promised her that she would take care of her siblings, so how could she neglect Gracey's life and death?
Natalie wanted to say something, but they had already gotten to the doctor's office. "Wait for me, I will see the doctor," Whitney said as she knocked on the door before pushing it open.
Natalie just nodded her head and waited outside.
"Good Morning, Doctor," Whitney greeted as she took her seat.
"How may I help you," the doctor asked. He cared for quite a few patients, so he did not know Whitney.
"My sister is in ward 507. She attempted suicide by slitting her wrist," Whitney said. She knew that with the right introduction, she would get the information needed.
The doctor nodded his head and looked at Gracey's file on his table.
"Her condition is very stable, we just need to monitor her for another twenty-four hours, and if everything is fine, you can be on your way. We noticed she seemed to have been raped. We have medical records here in case you want to sue the person," The doctor said.
"Thank you, doctor," Whitney said.
"It's my job. I will suggest you get her to talk to someone; otherwise she might really try to hurt herself again," the doctor said
"Okay," Whitney agreed, but she knew they could not afford the fee of a physiologist.
"You should also take care of yourself, don't forget to get the medicine and eat as much fruit and vegetables as possible," the doctor said. He was someone who cared about the life of others. So he had a good impression of Whitney for risking her life to save her sister.
"I will do that. Thank you, doctor," Whitney agreed and stepped out of the office.
"What did the doctor say?" Natalie asked. Whitney repeated everything the doctor said as they walked back to the ward.
"Can we go now?" Gracey asked the moment they got back inside.
"In a few hours," Whitney replied. She did not dare tell her sister that the doctor said twenty four hours. After all, she knew how much Gracey hated staying in the hospital after she recovered from her sickness.
"How many hours?" Grace did not fall for her sister's trick.
"Twenty-four," Whitney had no choice but to answer honestly.
"That is a whole day. I want to leave now," Whitney degrees.
"It's okay, but Whitney can not leave the hospital yet because her blood pressure is a bit low. Just count it that you are waiting for her," Natalie said when she noticed that Gracey was been difficult.
"You are also on admission?" Gracey asked.
"No," Whitney shook her head. She only needed to be on drip yesterday after she donated the blood.
"So?" Gracey felt that her sister and friend were just trying to trick her.
"Although she is not on an admission, it's best for her to be close to the hospital in the next forty-eight hours if she collapses from the blood donation," Natalie said.
"You are just trying to trick me. This is not the first time sister donated blood for me," Gracey rolled her eyes.
"You are right, but at those time, she was healthy enough to donate. Things are different this time. If you don't believe me, ask a nurse or doctor when they come to check on the patients," Natalie said.
"Fine," Gracey agreed. She did not think that Natalie was lying. After all, the nurse did say it was risky for Whitney to have donated the blood. Moreover, she did not want to act unreasonably. If something really happened to Whitney because she would not listen, she would be unable to forgive herself.
Kelly had already suffered a fright the previous day, so she did not have the heart to scare the little guy again.
