Chapter 7(a mother's warning)

ANGEL'S POV

I don't know what I fear most right now,the fact that I imagined nanny to go all crazy after hearing my news or the fact that she was just sitting there motionless like that after seeing the man I claim to love dearly. Yes,I actually lied to her and that too the first time in history. i just can't imagine the shock she would go through if I told her I married a stranger and that too agreed to be his baby mama so I simply told her that I am head over hills in love with this man and I just wanted to marry him and live with him claiming he had me more happier than ever. And looking at nanny I know she'd do anything as long as it was for my happiness. She agreed and asked me to bring the man over,I left him outside because I just don't know what he'd say if he was to meet her before me.

When I gestured him inside, nanny instantly froze as if she had seen a ghost or even worse. she remain like that for a while making the whole situation awkward.she seemed to be more surprised than shocked.

"Do you by chance know me?"Luc asked breaking the tension. yes I prefer calling him Luc rather than lucifer.i mean that's so creepy. I was having doubt about him until he showed me the gates of hell making me have second thoughts about what I've gotten myself into but then I keep assuring myself that it's just for a year, just a year.

"No.... no I don't know you anyway.im just surprised. You are Lucifer right? nanny asked but later regret asking the last part. She flinched and moved back a little when Luc started walking over to her.

"You know me?how?"he asked, slowly moving to her.

I immediately rushed and held his hand keeping him in place

"hey,I mentioned your name to her so it's likely for her to know your name. Right, nanny?"I looked over to her praying she'd say no because i never mentioned his name in any of my statement but my heart clinched in pain when she said yes.i ignored it for now because if I was to say anything wrong I'm sure the man beside me would go to any extreme to get the answers he wanted from her.

he turned to me and raised a brow

"did you really do that?"

"of....of course"I replied nervously.

"Now let's sit down and discuss matters, will we"I said making sure Luc sat beside me.

Nanny was looking a little better than before.she glared at Luc and smiled at me.

"Are you sure this is the man you actually want to marry?"she asked not tearing her gaze from him.

I interlocked our hands and looked at nanny.

"Trust me, nanny. He's really the one I want to be with no matter what. I even came to pack my things and move in with him."

"How come this happened right after your mission?and you didn't even tell me before.besides I know most of your friends,so why don't I know him" She said the him making it look as if he was a bad person.

"like you said you know almost not all besides he isn't just a friend but my husband" i said the last part feeling sick.

Nanny sighed knowing there's nothing she could do.she got up and walked over to Luc.

"Listen,I don't know how you convinced her into getting entangled with you but one thing I know is that my princess was never ready for marriage. The harm has already been done but listen and listen carefully if you dare make any danger befall her or try to hurt her anyway possible,you wouldn't like what will become of you and that is a mother's promise. Take it as a warning from me."she glared at him one last time before turning to me.

"Wow that was so intense "I thought. I've never seen her like that before. She touched my shoulders and sent a few strands of hair that was at my sides behind.

"Dear I made a promise to your mother to protect you no matter what happens and I won't break that promise now. You are like the daughter I never had and I never regret bring you up. This decision that you've made, I hope you know the consequences of it. You are old enough to know what you want and don't want and I can't stop you. So please protect yourself and be safe at least for me" A tear fell from her lovely face and I hugged her tightly.

Only God knows how much I love this woman with everything in me and I'd do anything to not hurt her again.

"it's okay, dear. Now go and pack your stuffs and let me see you off"she said trying her best not not to cry.

"and Hazel is in there,so find a suitable explanation for her"

"about the clothes,you don't have to take anything from here,I have it all sorted out"he blurted making me open and close my mouth like a fish who is out of water.

I just shook my head and rushed to my room, leaving the both of them to sort out their differences.

I opened the door and saw Haz standing by the window and without turning,she threw the question at me

"I know you lied to auntie so tell me what really happened for you to get married all of a sudden"she turned to me leaving no room for argument.

I gulped down whatever I was holding up in my throat.

"you did what!!!"that was her first expression when I told her the whole truth. I quickly covered her mouth with my hand.

"Keep quiet, will you?" But then she pulled my hands brutally from her mouth

"you fucking got married to a stranger and you tell me to keep quiet?"

"Listen girl,I have it under control okay so stop exaggerating".I tried convincing her which took me about 20 good minutes. She finally calmed down but not after asking to speak to my so called husband first.

I sighed knowing very well she wouldn't take no for an answer.

when we got down,Luc was sitting in the couch and I guess nanny was in the kitchen.

Before I could even introduce Haz and Luc,she quickly flew to his seat grabbing him by his collar and pulling him to a standing position. Everything happened too fast that even Luc had no time to react.

"Listen,scumbag .I don't know what exactly you told her for her to agree to marry you but I swear if I see a scratch on my baby girl's body or if she complains of you maltreating her,take it from me. You will wish you were in HELL"she warned before leaving him. Luc just smirk looking at her.

"it looks like your whole family is hellbent on playing with hell fire"

I called for nanny making sure Haz kept a safe distance from Luc. they walked us to the gate and bide us goodbye.

I looked at the window as we departed from my once lovely house.

If anyone told me I would be getting married like this, I would have never believed but here I was with the man I'm going to spend the rest of the year with by my side. I sighed and sank in the seat,I guess I have to brace myself for anything that might come my way.

This might be the worse mistake ever in my life
