"Well that was a rush" I said while staring at my room ceiling.

A lot of things had happened during this past few days that it almost fells unreal. I was attacked by demons, Rose revealed herself as a hunter, I awakened my powers and defeated that knight albeit almost dying, I joined Snow Fall, it was revealed dracula existed, and we killed a lesser demon together, although I didn't help because Leo told me not to.

It felt as if I will soon wake up from a dream. Well, if all this was a dream then I wouldn't want to wake up. A new world was revealed to me and I would be damned if I didn't want to explore.

My first expression when meeting the crew was that "They are Unique." Leo was nonchalant and playful but serious when it came to work, Kaguya was quiet and was said to be a huge sadist and Rose had easygoing personality to those she was close to.

"I wonder what the rest are like?" After all, Leo did say the rest were busy and said I'll meet them in the future. In any case, I can't wait to see how the rest was like.

I then started about what Leo told me when we got back. He explained the history about wars between the races and how the demons got sealed.

So the story goes like this:

3000 years ago, the demons constantly clashed with the rulers due to the bitter rivalry between the Supreme Deity and the Demon King of Tyranny due to their innate "purpose" of maintaining a balance between light and darkness. The Demon King and the Supreme God were said to hold such absolute power that even the King of Vampires, Dracula Ţepeş, the oldest and strongest vampire in existence was nothing before them.

During that period, the Demon king and the mother of all demons, Lilith birthed seven demons. These demons were reproduced unlike the normal demons that were created using magic and such as they were called Demon royalty. As the children of the Demon King himself, they inherited his traits and talents, therefore making them extremely more powerful than any other demon. Thus, they were known as the Seven Archdukes of Hell or better known as the Seven Deadly Sins. Their names commanded respect and honor, with many demons looking upon them.

Like the Seven Sins, the rulers also had their own elite unit: "The Four Fragments of Brilliant Light" who matched the Seven Sins in power and influence. As these two races clashed, it soon discovered that they were equally matched and thus a tentative balance was created. However, the balance was soon destroyed when a internal conflict happened within the demons causing the death of three of the Seven Sins. The Rulers didn't let this opportunity slide and instigated Vampires and Hunters against them, starting an event known as the Holy Blood War.

As a result, the Demon race was ultimately defeated by the rulers and their allied forces due to their weakened forces having lost three Sins and were sealed away in the demon realm. Despite their victory, they lost much of their forces and were forced to enter a long term hibernation to regain their lost power, thus, the rulers were never seen again

What caught my attention in this story was the internal conflict in the demon race. I remember what the Knight said before and believed this was indeed the work of the traitor. But what does this mean for me? Does this mean my mother was the traitor? No, that's mother can't be 3000 years old, right? It think it has to be ancestor since it was more reasonable. If that's the case, I'm being hunted because of my ancestor's doing.

Indeed, a normal life was impossible from the start. I think I made the right choice. Because that Knight failed in its mission, more demons are going to come after me.

Maybe it's a good thing that I turned awakened as a Devil. Wait, is awakening into a Devil even a good thing? Well, if I hadn't, then without a doubt that knight would have killed. me and my life would have been over. Just like this, I don't have time to enjoy my youth.

BREATHES IN.

I inhaled some air. It's not time for me to think negative thoughts and if something happens, then I will find a way to solve. I should just remain focused on my initial goal.

Yeah, that will be my first step. Yeah, this is it. Yup! I'm getting fired up. Sobbing time is over. I'm a Devil. That can't be changed. Then I will have to live on as a Devil.

Yeah! I'm going to do it!

The Next Day

Early in the morning within a dojo, Dante and Ethan could be seen clashing with wooden swords. However, unlike their sparring match, an unbelievable event was taking place right now.

Bang!

Just like, Dante was sent staggering into the shelf behind him.

"Dad!!" Ethan said and rushed forward. On reaching where dad was, he tried to help out of the fallen pile of doll weapons along the shelf.

"I'm fine... I'm fine... Let's go again." Dante said with a grin on his face. This sent chills down Ethan's spine as a strange feeling overwhelmed him. But he walked to the centre of the dojo and he couldn't help but have one thought.

"I did it... I finally did it.. I finally knocked him down after all this years." He thought, excitedly.

Yes, indeed. He had never been able to knock Dante down no matter what he tried. Forget that, he never managed to even hit him. But this time it was different. This dad was like a unmovable mountain but now he had knocked down the mountain. Thanks to awakening to his demonic heritage, his physical prowess had reached new heights. And thanks to that, he was able to finally get a hit on Dante and knocked him down.

Ethan was beyond excited

"Son, don't hold back!" Dante told Ethan who was far from him. Surprisingly, this time it was Dante who rushed towards Ethan with a wide grin on his face. Ethan could see the excitement on his dad's face and this gave him confidence to go in for an attack as well.

The two dashed towards each other with the speed of a bullet and then,

Slam!

Dante blocked a vertical sweep of Ethan's wooden sword.

Slam!

Ethan kicked Dante in the chest, causing him to slide backwards.

Slam!

Dante parried Ethan's sweep and elbowed him on the cheek.

Slam!

Ethan tottered about like a drunken man.

Slam!

Slam!

Bang!

"That's enough for today." Dante said to Ethan who was lying on the floor. He extended a hand and Ethan accepted it.

"Now let me see those lips." Dante said as he approached with a first aid kit. After accessing that area and oddly, a frown appeared on Dante's face.

"That's strange, I thought you got it bursted a moment ago." Dante asked

"You should look properly." Ethan said. And after several minutes of searching, Dante only found a trail of blood on Ethan's chin and his training attire, but no wound in sight. This caused Dante to stare at Ethan suspiciously and Ethan just nervously scratched his right cheek.

Sigh!

Moments later, Dante just signed before dropping the box and walked towards the exit.

"We have pause our sparring sections for now." Dante suddenly said

"Huh? Why?"

"I have a tough case so I'm going to be busy for a while." Dante explained

"Oh, in that case I guess that's alright." Ethan said and Dante nodded before exiting. Since Ethan was facing his dad's back, he wasn't able to see the frown that has appeared on his face.

"This is too early for this to happen, I guess the seal is starting to weaken." Dante thought before he exited the dojo.
