Just able to catch a glance of the man, Somniya came to the realisation this man was just an ordinary middle-aged man with orange hair with nothing much extraordinary or strange about him. He was a completely ordinary citizen. The mob swarming behind him mostly fit within the same category.
Rapidly understanding his situation, Somniya just as rapidly jumps to his feet and begins galloping in the other direction, throwing a stall of different fruits of different colour, shapes and sizes to the ground to create any distance possible between himself and the imminent death.
As he leaps over the residue of the stall swarms of people spray plethoras of slurs and curses whilst they threw whatever was in reach unconcerned of the owners who were also just as unconcerned as long as it was directed towards Somniya: Fruits, food, weapons, drinks, boots, armour pieces, pebbles and metal objects battered his body, but he had to continue running.
Some kind of reddish green mush Somniya couldn't identify himself splattered across his face, entering both his mouth, nose and eyes, but he had to continue running. He had to keep his legs moving if he didnt want to die.
Jumping over barrels, curling around backstreets, vaulting over fences escape actually seemed possible.
He could actually get away! He thought as the voices of the blood hungry mob slowly dissipated into the background-
"Gaaaghh!"
Suddenly a sharp pain pierced the back of his left ankle, the pain and shock instantly collapsing him to the ground. "That's for my daddy!" squeaked a high pitched voice.
Somniya jerked his head back, terrified to see a little girl gripping a bloodied kitchen knife shaking between both her hands, with blonde hair, puffy cheeks, and a solid purple dress. She had a burningly scornful face of revenge, a face that didn't belong on any child of her age.
Not long after, the chants of the mob grew closer and closer.
Void of many alternatives, Somniya drove his right foot into the girl's skull, inevitably knocking her unconscious, although his kick hurting himself just as much as it did the girl Somniya's fear easily overpowered his sympathy.
Unable to have a moment of sorrow, Somniya dragged his body to his feet and began alternating between a pitiful limp and run, despite his injury causing the cut to ooze out blood on every step.
Yet despite all his desperate efforts he felt a powerful grip on his left sleeve and the next thing he knew his body was catapulted into the air within the next instant colliding with a grey dustbin the impact loudly rattling the metal, the many contents absorbed him within the pile of trash he had created, a piece of glass even indenting itself into his left shoulder.
Yet again his shirt was being used as a leash to dog. "Good, now you smell like the shit you are!" said a man different to one before, yet with identical intentions he drew his fist backwards.
Somniya's eyes widening in absolute terror and helplessness, tears running down his face. He received another blow to his face, knocking his head backwards and drawing blood from his mouth and lips to paint the cobblestone beneath them.
His tears receiving zero remorse, the man drew back his fist once more. And in one more desperate attempt at life, Somniya dislodged the piece of glass from his shoulder, being forced to ignore his pain.
He bit his lip and slit the collar of his shirt from the rest of his body, completely ruining his top, as the majority was torn away left in the hand of the pursuers.
And, unable to have a moment of sorrow, Somniya dragged his body to his feet and began alternating between a limp and run, despite his injury causing the cut to ooze out blood on every step.
What was his plan, to just run forever and ever?
Somniya's body curled into a ball among the trash he no longer felt any differentiation to. Hidden within the musky, uncountable different stenches of piles of bagged garbage, abusing his nostrils with such strength it felt as if he were gurgling them in his mouth.
He wanted to cry.
He so desperately wanted to wail out in tears but with every little sound such as the scurrying of a rat or the take-off of a bird from the rooftops, causing Somniya to shiver, expecting death.
He gripped his mouth with both hands forcefully, refusing his body the relief of a scream as tears rolled down the back and front of his hands. He was unable to contain the silent whimpers releasing from the depths of his soul.
Somniya remained in this position for how many ever minutes for however many hours all he knew. His tears and snot had dried up on his still clutching hands.
And almost as if it had just happened, Somniya continued to shiver restlessly despite the heavy footsteps of the mob disappearing hours ago until he heard some fuzzy rustling, and his heart jumped as he felt the weight of the bags slowly decreasing on his body.
It was over.
The beautiful night sky and the twinkles of the stars finally shone into his eyes, yet the view was abruptly interrupted although by something he had just realised to be a thousands times more beautiful.
"Thank god you're okay, I've been looking everywhere for you none stop." Eve wailed as tears heavy with relief flowed down the edges of her big painful frown, her eyes filled with anything but sorrow.
"Eve- Eve, I'm sorry!" Somniya wailed at a loss of what to do with his body, not even wiping the tears and snot from his face.
"No, I should be a lot sorrier, you didn't deserve to hear any of that. It's unimaginable how frustrating and scary your situation may be."
"But I didn't listen to you, I didn't listen when all you wanted was to help me. I'm such a douchebag! -"
Suddenly Eve drew Somniya's head to her chest and wrapped her arms around him drawing closer to her heart, completely ignoring the putrid stench emitting from every corner of his body.
"Don't worry there isn't one person that is not a douchebag in this world I guess it's called being human haha…
But as long as we're able to accept where we have been and apologise for it, and make up for it how can you refer to that person as a douchebag they have intentionally disconnected themselves from anything else they may have done."
He didn't deserve her, there's no way in hell he deserved someone like this! The endless stream of tears continued rushing down his face as they got soaked up by Eve's clothes, he hugged Eve back, although knowing he couldn't emanate half of what she had given him.
