"Do you guys know what's inside this box?" Liam Jordan pointed to a square box on the table. "When I came in, I smelled the aroma of food."
"I don't know. But it smells so good. Should we open it and take a look?" George immediately leaned over, staring intently at the box emitting the delicious aroma, along with Liam Jordan.
"You think... could it be a late-night snack that Albert brought from the kitchen?" Fred stared at the box in front of them, speculating.
"Where is he?" George asked. "We can ask him."
"He's taking a hot shower in the bathroom," Liam Jordan reminded.
"Well, why don't we open it and see?" The three of them looked at each other and said in unison.
The next second, they couldn't help but burst into laughter.
George was the quickest to act. He immediately reached out and opened the box, and a strong aroma spread out.
The three of them immediately leaned in to get a closer look at what was inside.
A plate... of food?
Yes, a plate of food. It was strange, a dish they had never seen before?
But it smelled really good.
"Let me taste it first for everyone." George pinched a piece with his hand, threw it into his mouth, and chewed for a moment. "It seems like eggs, and... those green things seem to be... garlic?"
"Damn it, don't use your hands. There's a fork right next to it." Fred shouted discontentedly. "Let me try it. I feel like Albert has come up with something strange again."
"By the way, did he make this himself?" Liam Jordan asked curiously.
"Most likely, it's the house-elf in the kitchen who made it." The twins revealed the truth simultaneously.
"The taste is not bad." Liam Jordan just put a forkful of food into his mouth when he suddenly said, "Hey, do you think we should save some for him?"
As they spoke, the food on their plates had already disappeared.
"It seems... it's too late now." George murmured softly.
As they were talking, the door to the dormitory was opened, and the three of them turned their heads towards the door, putting down their forks simultaneously.
"What's going on with you guys?" Albert looked at the three of them in confusion, his gaze shifting to the open box on the table, and his face twitched slightly. "You finished eating?"
"We couldn't resist." Fred said embarrassedly.
"What's this dish called? It tastes really good." Liam Jordan tried to change the subject, but George immediately covered his mouth with his hand.
"Sorry." The three of them apologized in unison.
"It's garlic scrambled eggs," Albert said calmly.
"Garlic..."
"...scrambled eggs?"
Speaking of garlic, Fred couldn't help but look at the pot of garlic on the window sill, and then his expression froze.
Why is my garlic bald!
"Could it be...?" Fred pointed to the plate of garlic with its leaves trimmed off and asked.
"Yeah."
"You turned it... into a dish?" George looked at the bare pot and didn't know what to say for a moment.
"I saw you guys enjoying it." Albert said unkindly, "Don't worry, spring is here, and the garlic will soon sprout new shoots again."
The three of them were speechless.
By the way, this dish... was really good!
Liam Jordan coughed lightly and curiously asked, "Did you make it yourself?"
"I had the house-elf in the kitchen help me stir-fry it." Albert sighed, "Those little guys are pretty good at cooking. I wonder if I can bring one back from Hogwarts to help with household chores after I graduate."
"Mom has always hoped to have a house-elf to cook, do laundry, and take care of household chores for us." George muttered, "Unfortunately, we don't have one at home."
"Forget about it." Fred explained, "Only ancient wizarding families, and very wealthy ones at that, have house-elves."
"I don't have one either." Liam Jordan shook his head.
"Maybe, if you pay enough Galleons?" Albert suggested, "House-elves must have a source. Hmm, I'll make a note of this." He took out his notebook and recorded the matter.
"You wouldn't..." The three of them looked at Albert suspiciously.
"As long as you have Galleons, most problems can be solved." Albert explained, "Okay, let's not talk about this. Help me with an experiment."
"What experiment?" George asked.
"Throw pillows at me." Albert raised his wrist with the wooden bracelet.
"Are you sure?" The three of them grabbed their pillows and threw them at Albert, but the pillows seemed to hit a strange barrier and spread open.
"How did you do that?" The three of them crowded around curiously, asking Albert how he managed to block the pillows out of thin air.
"This... " Albert took off the wooden bracelet and said, "I made it, a unique and extraordinary protective charm. It has the Ironclad Charm, which can resist curses and objects, and it can also effectively repel dark magical creatures."
"I always feel like you're fooling around again." Fred took the wooden bracelet and examined it carefully. "But, undeniable, it's a magical thing. Could it be the effect of the strange symbols on the wooden bracelet?"
"I can't be sure yet." Albert shook his head. "This thing requires multiple tests."
"It's my turn this time." Fred said, "How do you use it?"
"Wear it on your hand or hold it in your hand." Albert said uncertainly. "It should work either way."
"I'll throw it." George threw a pillow at Fred, and the effect was triggered again, causing the pillow to bounce off.
"That's so cool. You've made something really amazing." Liam Jordan was extremely shocked. "I think a lot of people would want this. Imagine, when someone tries to curse you, you just raise your hand and block the curse. It's so cool."
"Now it's my turn, let me try a curse and see if it really bounces back." George shouted excitedly at Albert, "Use the Barrier Hex."
"Barriers upon barriers." Albert gestured for everyone to step back, picked up his wand, and cast the hex. Before the curse hit George, it seemed to be blocked by something, and the curse rebounded, hitting Liam Jordan next to him and sending him flying onto the bed.
"Damn it, that hurts." Liam Jordan complained, holding his back, "You must have done it on purpose."
Liam Jordan just saw George, that bastard, waving his hand and directing the curse towards him.
"So cool, it's absolutely fantastic."
"It's hard to believe."
The twins looked at each other and said in unison, "This thing is definitely going to sell for several Galleons."
"You idiots, come help me up." Liam Jordan complained.
"Sorry, we were too excited." George looked apologetic. "Are you alright? I really didn't mean it."
"Now it's my turn to test." Liam Jordan took the wooden bracelet and got up from the floor, shouting excitedly at Albert.
"Fall unconscious." Albert also wanted to test the limits of the Ironclad Charm on the wooden bracelet, so he didn't refuse Liam Jordan.
However, Liam Jordan's luck seemed to be really bad. He was directly hit by the Stunning Spell and the wooden bracelet didn't have any effect at all.
He held the wooden bracelet and fell unconscious.
"The protective effect of the bracelet failed?" Fred asked curiously.
"Maybe it reached its limit." Albert walked to Liam Jordan's side and squatted down, speculating. "After all, this is just a prototype, so it's normal to encounter such situations."
"I think... Liam Jordan is having a really unlucky day." Fred looked at his unconscious roommate with a smug expression.
"Now, what should we do?" George asked, "Can you wake him up?"
"I think it's better to let him sleep until morning." Albert said.
"I think so too."
