"Not just mere ferals or demons, but something else stronger and more powerful than normal creatures," Rich said with a raised eyebrow as he rose and pulled a trio of plates from the cupboard, glanced at Lana, and raised an eyebrow in question. She subtly shook her head and responded, "I already ate."
He returned one of the plates and then dished up two generous portions from the crockpot. He tossed a fork to Mora and slid one plate in front of her, taking the other for himself. A few bites and he'd practically annihilated his meal.
Mora realized the meat was so tender she didn't need a knife and tried a bite. She'd expected salty mush, but it was surprisingly juicy and flavorful. Swallowing, she looked at Lana and said, "This is delicious. What is it?"
Chortling, Lana leaned back in her chair and slapped her knee in amusement. "You've never had pot roast?"
