A Birthday and a Deathday

Months passed slowly, marked by each full moon in which Fenrir came and took the children away from Diana. After a few months Hati joined the father - daughter duo under the full moon, in a shabby little makeshift den. The children hated it, the things he would make them do. Werewolves had a somewhat animalistic nature however, watching their father drag muggles into the den and order them to feast upon their flesh was horrific. As soon as she was home, in the safe custody of her mother, Nuntis would run upstairs to the bathroom and stick two fingers down her throat. Blood, gore and bile coated the toilet each morning after the full moon. With each passing moon Nuntis hated herself more and more, she hated that she was not strong enough to say not to her father's demands. One day she hoped she would be strong enough.

The night prior to Nuntis' 7th birthday, the moon was full and bright. Inhumane screams could be heard from Rivington Woods, for the past few years joggers and dog walkers had gone missing from the area around the full moon. Fenrir grabbed them whenever someone infringed on what he deemed as his territory for him and his children to feast upon when the moon was high. That particular night was horrific, a duo of teenage boys who had obviously stayed out past dark and the allowed time to be in the woods to try and find the rumoured 'beast' in the woods. Unlucky for them it seemed. Fenrir ripped into their soft stomach's with his sharp canines, blood spattering over his snout. He growled at the two small pups in his den. Their hesitancy angered him. The fenris wolf dragged the now corpse to where the pups were cowering and glowered at them until their little paws and teeth dug into the soft flesh. After fenrir devoured his prey he encouraged his children to fight, pushing them over with his large paws and snout as well as snapping his teeth at them hoping they would learn to defend themselves.

Hours passed by in the shabby den dug under the ruins in Rivington Woods and warded so that no muggle would find the entrance and stumble across the actual den. Once the sun arose Fenrir was asleep, human once more but his features warped to be something in between human and wolf. Nuntis was awake, she could never sleep around her father, if he could even be called that. Hati was using her legs as a pillow as she watched her father cautiously, ever ready to come to her brother's defense against him if need be. Each groan and shift of her father in his sleep make her flinch, scratches and scars maring her body from when she had upset him or tried to protect Hati from him before. Nuntis chewed on the dry skin of her lips, a comforting repetitive action that soothed her anxiety. She was 7 today. The young she wolf couldn't help but hope that he would wake up and return them to their mother soon. The remains of the teenagers churned in her stomach. What he made them do was wrong, but they were oh so powerless to stop it.

It was midday before fenrir had awoke, shrugging on some tattered robes he left the den. Nuntis poked hati once she was sure he had left. His chocolate brown hair was sticking up in tufts poking in random directions and he had drooled a bit, he had been sloppily dressed in his sleep by Nuntis after he had transformed back into human form and their father had fallen asleep. "Nunty?" he asked sleepily cuddling into her, "Where's Father?"

Nuntis shrugged, "I don't know, bubby." she replied running her hands through his hair in an attempt to tame the tufts of hair, causing the younger to gently push her hands away from him. He didn't like her fussing over him.

Fenrir soon returned holding a backpack, and giving them each a sandwich he had stolen from a local muggle shop. The sandwiches were plain chicken and encased in brightly coloured packaging labeled 'Tesco's'. Nuntis just held hers, claiming not to be hungry thus causing her father to growl at her and snatch it away. Fenrir stuffed the unwanted sandwich into the backpack as Hati ripped the packaging apart ruthlessly hoping to impress the man before him. Biting into the sandwich with a smile, small spots of blood still around his mouth from the prior night despite Nuntis' attempt to clean him up. Once Hati had eaten, Fenrir grabbed his children. A hand around each of their hands before he apperated away.

Upon their arrival, marked by the sound much alike to the back firing of a car, Diana exited the kitchen from where she was decorating a cake. She smiled softly upon seeing her children trying to hide her annoyance and anger at Fenrir for them returning to her scratched and scraped. However, she didn't have the option to not let Fenrir take them; against him she was powerless. Fenrir let go of their hands, scowling as they ran towards their mother, short legs taking them twice as long as it would Fenrir to reach her. Diana beamed as she squeezed both her babies into a hug as they snuggled into her waist. "Happy Birthday Tesoro." She whispered to her eldest as she ran her hand through her youngest's hair.

Diana steered them inside hoping Fenrir would leave but alas he did not. His heavy footsteps echoing off the wood floors after climbing the stone steps, bringing in muddy footsteps. The male wolf flopped into a chair at the dining table after dragging out a chair with a sharp scratch causing the rest of the house's inhabitants to wince. Diana sighed giving her children a gentle push towards the stairs to clean themselves up. "Fenrir." Her voice was soft and quiet as Diana attempted to gain his attention. He ignored her as the children could be heard rushing up the stairs. "Fenrir." she attempted once more.

"Who else is here?" He asked, voice flat and feigned indifference. Diana gulped thickly hearing the anger he tried to hide. "Who else is here Diana?!" Fenrir roared at her, his temper shorter than ever as he descended further and further into his animalistic madness. The chair screeched once more as he stormed towards her, trapping a cowering Diana between the kitchen cabinets and himself.

"My brother!" she shouted, tears running down her face as she cowered beneath him, hands trembling and stomach churning in fear. He spat at her, the glob landing on her cheek.

"Clean yourself up. Your pathetic Diana. I should have left you in Italy to be married off like the pawn you are. You're nothing. Now go." he growled out.

Diana took off as if he had set her dress on fire. Running up the stairs with heavy thuds as her foot met each step. As she entered her bedroom she slammed the door shut behind her, grabbing her wand and placing a locking charm on the door for her own security. Then, Diana slid down the door hyperventilating as she came to terms with what had just happened. Her hand was over her racing heart as she tried to calm down.

Meanwhile, Fenrir was slowly climbing the stairs after her. His claws sharpened with each step. Antonio came to stand at the top of the stairs, wand out ready. "Leave Fenrir. You are not welcome here." The italian man stated threateningly. Fenrir could only growl loudly in reply, pouncing at the man. Antonio did not have the time to fire off a spell to defend himself before Fenrir's body weight pushed him into the ground. ripped fabric and flesh, blood squirting all over. It coated Fenrir's torso, his hands, his claws, his face, the carpet, the curtains, the banister, everywhere. Fenrir was so engrossed in his horrific act that he didn't hear the little feet running towards him. Hati launched himself with a war cry, landing on his back. A little fist slamming into his neck and face over and over while an arm wrapped around Fenrir's neck so that Hati didn't fall off. The elder wolf growled out the child's name menacingly. He stood, moving to his shoulders rapidly to try and shake the young boy off to no avail.

After realising he would not be able to shake the boy off. Fenrir slammed all of his weight and back into a nearby wall. Hati let out a gasp of air as he was crushed. Nuntis screamed, she had tried to stay out of it. She knew survival was most likely ensured if they left their father be. No, he was not a father. Their sire. Her own claws grew, "Hati!" she shouted before rushing at Fenrir in a desperate attempt to save her brother. Claws slashed Fenrir's arm and face as she struggled the elder wolf simply throwing her aside or kicking her away each time she attempted to fight him. Diana had rushed out of her room and was attempting to cast healing charms through her sobs, the two women working together to try and save Hati's life. After a few swipes of Nuntis' claws and her biting his shoulder, Fenrir had had enough; his cub or not, something had to be done. His teeth sunk into her throat. Shaking his head, he pulled out a chunk. Dropping the she wolf he spat out the chunk of flesh after chewing it a little so it was irreparable. With both his children dying, he apperarated away. The sound, much alike to the backfiring of a car.

The last thing Hati Romeo Greyback ever heard was a mix of his mother's sobbing and his sister's wheezing breaths as she tried to cling to life herself. With teardrops rolling down Diana's face and onto her son's he left this realm. A final breath. Diana clutched her jaw and mouth with one hand, trying to hold back her gut wrenching sobs as she closed his eyes. With that, she had to leave her youngest baby there, to try and save Nuntis.
