Wilson arrived at ten am and hour earlier before their uncle's attack yesterday. They had already reinforced their doors and window, horded up weapons and were ready and prepared to take on any being that entered past their door only for Wilson to arrive and say these weapons wouldn't help them at all. Instead, he had brought out a pack of blessed salt and drew a line across their door claiming it would prevent any summoned evil spirit from entering with anyone who was to attack them. He repeated the same on every opening that could lead to assessment into the building before dropping down the already empty satchet of salt.
They waited for hours and there was no sign of intrusion, not even the wind dared blow at their doorstep and once again Justin had grown tense but he did not want to show it. He didn't really make sense about the supernaturals and he had allowed this man to trick him and use their senses. They didn't even know him that well and for all he knew, he could be one of whatever he called them. He had grown tired of waiting and his doubt was growing more than he could contain but Ashley had restrained him from making any unnecessary actions
"I know you're probably doubting me right now, but trust me they don't really do their attacks during day time" Wilson explained as if noticing the mental bickering that went on between the two siblings. "I don't think your uncle really meant to harm you. If he didn't try at all at capturing you, he would be killed and I think he had purposely attacked during the day to get caught and arrested so he could be out of their reach" Wilson added just to liven up the quiet graveyard they kept watch in.
Nightfall soon came and there wasn't any sign of intrusion talk more of an intruder. They had literally spent the rest of the day casually with Ashley constantly restraining Justin from throwing Wilson out of the house and calling him a scam.
It was now 1am and Ashley was fast asleep on his shoulder close to snoring while he and the undercover police man named Wilson stayed up keeping watch. Neither of them saying anything to the other for the past one hour. Everywhere was dead silent apart from the noises of nocturne creatures that roamed around enjoying their own share of nature.
The silence was soon interrupted by a sudden kick to their door shaking the two men up from their sleepy eyes. His startled shake also waking the sleeping Ashley.
"What's go.."
"Shhhh" They both shushed the waking girl
The noise from the door subsided for a moment as if the intruder had heard them and was listening to clarify if he heard correctly. The last and final force brought down their reinforced door, the impact of the fallen wood clearing away the salt that Wilson had lined up.
"Salt? Clever" They heard the intruder acknowledging a low growling clearly audible from the background. He was not alone. The growling suddenly intensified and soon, they could hear running footsteps approaching them. Whatever that came with this intruder had smelt them and was speedily heading their way. Wilson shot up from where he lay hidden and pulled a cross like object from his pocket and began drawing around them just before the creature surfaced.
The lights suddenly came on, the intruder had found their circuit breaker and had turned the electricity back on.
They finally got a glimpse of the creature in front of them. A hound but it wasn't any ordinary hound. It's eyes were pitch black with red veins running around it's body. It's skin pulsing and squelching with every breath it took. It looked like something that had crawled up from hell and from hell indeed it had been summoned.
It made failed attempts to cross the circle Wilson had drawn every trial getting the hound more and more infuriated.
The intruder had a mask on, his lips and a quarter the only visible thing on his face. His lips was curled up into a smile as he slowly approached the three of them in his hand a whip that glowed with every step he took.
"Do you know what this is?" He questioned the three humans that stood in front of him.
"Don't answer him" Wilson adviced.
"You Advocates are as annoying as ever" The man said bow standing in front of the two of them the whip now glowing brighter than ever.
"This is a holy whip, the same as Christ had used when he raided the church. And do you know what this does? It locates powers that are not from this word and negates them" He replied his own question his lips curling up into a wider smile just before Wilson vocalized
"Run!" The three of them dashed upwards just before they heard the whip crack and the shattering of a glass like object.
The dog like creature bolted after them with every step rhey took, it took two. It was clearly faster than an average dog and his bet was that it was deadlier too.
Wilson turned immediately at the approaching dog brandishing a little bottle from his pocket and emptying it's content on the dog which fell on the ground and turned in pain.
They could hear the sound of sizzling and the smell of burning flesh and Justin's curiosity had gotten the better of him. He needed to know just in case he ran into one of them elsewhere.
"What's that?" He asked
"Holy water". Wilson replied pulling them into the last room they had just run past without realizing.
"Is it dead?"Ashley asked clearly fully awake now.
"No, just wounded" Wilson answered trying to catch his breath.
"Did they hurt you? Poor thing, you'll have them for breakfast soon" they heard the intruder consoling the hellish creature.
Wilson raced to the window and checked the height from the ground.
"We have to jump" He suggested clearly not having any other options.
"What?" The two siblings chorused in a whisper.
"It's die or jump" he laid out their options and before he could speak any further, Justin had lead his sister to the window and with a little aid lowering her down, she finally dropped the ground before he followed and soon Wilson was down. The three of them making a run towards the policeman's car.
They could hear the hounds footsteps chasing after them. They must have heard them dropping down from the window and had immediately chased after them but it was already late. They were in Wilson's car and without further time wasting, the policeman sped off into the night leaving the approaching demon in the dust.
