Mors and Catox stand in front of a village entrance. Bows were drawn and arrows were pointed at them. The people in this village seem to have some beast lineage. Their wings are like that of hawks, the aura of lighting and storms emanates from these winged people.
The four-wing woman in front screams out from the treetops. Her voice carries by the wing and allows it to enter Mors and Catox's ears.
"Other worlder! What do you want from our village!? Take another step and we will shoot!"
"Wow! Calm down their lady. I just came to talk to you guys about something."
Soon on the Lighting Hawk side whispers started to spread.
"An other worlder that can speak our language!"
"Maybe it's not an other worlder. I did hear the air humans of the east dress in a similar way."
"Maybe is a necromancer…"
The female chief looks at Mors with stern eyes as she thinks about what to say back. After a few seconds of silence, she opens her mouth once again.
"What is it that you want other worlder!?"
"I just want [Darken Sand] and [Petrified Wood]"
"I have never heard of such things! So please get out of our island!"
"Really? Aww man that sucks. Well, you hear her, let's get back to the ship."
Mors said with disappointment in his tone. He wishes what he needs it was here, this is already the third island they have visited. He has been a whole 4 weeks without his lovely wife! Mors turns around as he walks back to where the ship is. Followed by Catox as Mor's copies disappear into thin air.
Gasp of surprise scape some of the lighting hawk mouths. The Ghosts disappear! They have never seen something like that before! As Mors and Catox leave the view of the village. Relief washes over them, as arrows are put down and bows are aimed down.
No one today lost their life. But things did not go back to normal. It was not easy to trust the words of an other worlder. Everyone here has heard the stories. Bloodthirsty people who murder everyone on sight, casting weird spells and doing supernatural things.
"The fact that the ghost disappear is concerning! What if they are hiding in the village!? Waiting for the perfect time to strike?"
"He gave up to easily! He must be planning to attack us when we let our guard down!"
"Think about it! Does it make sense for an other worlder to speak our language!? It might be just a human from the air nations!"
"Impossible! The air nations don't practice death magic!"
Within the village voices for reason and voices of fear battle against each other. The female chief turns to her people as she spreads her wings. The crack of lighting echoes in the village as lighting spreads across the sky.
"Enough! Be thankful that we all got to live another day! The other worlder will be leavening soon. But I know it's hard to trust his words! So that is why I will assign a group to look at the other worlder army! This group will report back the moment things become dangerous for us!"
"So, everyone calms down and goes back to your daily lives. Nothing bad will happen today. No one will die today"
----Pov Mors----
Mors and Catox soon arrive where the ship is. It was impossible for Catox to not notice his master's bad mood.
"Worry not master, the next island for sure will have what you want."
"Ugh..I hope so. I want to get back to Zhihui as fast as possible."
Mors answers back as they stop at the edge of the shore. Mors breaths in and then out. Shouting while enchanting his voice with Qi.
"How much longer!?"
"It should finish repairing by tomorrow morning!"
"Alright!"
Mors then turns to Catox.
"Go back to the ship. I will stay here in solid land."
"As you command Second Death"
Catox started to walk on water as he made his way back to the ship. Leaving Mors behind on the inhabited island. Mors turns around and walks to the jungle again. He enters the jungle as his eyes linger in the direction of the village. Dark thoughts circulated in his mind.
"No! I can't do that. That will make me no better than the authoritarian rulers back on Earth."
Mors said to himself as he started to look at the plans that were growing at the base of the trees.
"Maybe one of these plants can prove to be the breakthrough in keeping the Qi in the ground from drying out"
The experiment of growing Qi-enchanted crops has been a failure so far. The plots of land need it a lot of Qi and no reasonable person will want to stay in a village feeding Qi to the ground just to make some crops grow. Especially when doing so did not make you stronger.
"There has to be something I am missing…"
Mors said as he puts some of his Qi into the ground. He watches as the Qi stays in the ground for a bit before being reabsorbed by the plant's roots. The soil once again returns to its normal Qi-less state. Mors continues to try to increase the time the Qi stays in the ground.
From different quantities and qualities. But all were met with the same fate. And he knew that the element of the Qi won't help either, as Zhihui already try that before. Mors sits his ass on the ground as he lays his back against a tree trunk.
His Qi was somewhat depleted from a daylong of experiments. His back is sweaty and so it's his forehead. He looks at the bright moon sky as he tries his best to not pay attention to the eyes that are following him from the treetops.
'Probably a party task to keep an eye on me, which makes sense.'
Mors thought to himself as he breathed in and out, catching a break and giving his mind some rest. But he was not getting sleepy, as the constant eyes watching him did not allow his mind to go to sleep and shut down.
