Yvonne, on the verge of disappearing back into the throng, felt a tug on her arm. Silax, reached out and gently grasped her arm, stopping her in her tracks.
"Hold on a moment, Scarlet, there's something I'm curious about."
Yvonne paused, her posture stiffening slightly. The light banter she'd used with him earlier seemed to vanish, replaced by a guarded suspicion.
Though her mask obscured her features, Silax could sense the shift in her demeanor.
"What might that be, Revenant?" she inquired, her voice cool.
"Your wings, Yvonne, they shimmer with a pale green hue. Another vampire I encountered had pitch black wings." He said, his voice a low murmur that danced just above the renewed murmur of the crowd.
"Why the difference in the color of wings?"
"Where did you encounter this black-winged vampire?" She countered, her eyes narrowing.
