Callon returned with Maku minutes later. Silax noticed a shift in his demeanor.
Maku didn't seem as downcast as he had been earlier in the morning. There was still a hint of hesitancy, but it was mixed with a flicker of hope in his eyes.
"Maku, Callon mentioned you had something you wanted to talk to me about. What's going on?"
Maku hesitated, glancing nervously at Tyla and Callon. Taking a deep breath, he finally spoke.
"It's my parents. I got word yesterday, that they had been involved in a terrible accident. So, I wanted to get some time off to go see them."
"What happened?" Silax asked.
"It was some problem with some packages they had delivered. Apparently, it wasn't properly packed, and it had some materials with a volatile nature, which led to an explosion."
"I see. It's right you should be with them at this time." Silax said gently.
"The issue here is, how long would you be gone, and if you would even be able to return?"
