Violent Society

When Grace, Felicity, and Seth's group started running around the Pennel estate, the family's servants and underlings soon realized something was wrong.

The Pennel patriarch himself heard the sounds caused by the movement of these people, but also the doubts of the people on his estate who began to comment on what was happening.

"What happened?" Felicity's father joined the people on the outskirts of the manor, wondering what was going on.

No one initially understood, but soon Grace and Felicity's voices emerged to warn everyone of the problem.

"There are people infiltrated in the family!" They told the people they were sure weren't using items to change their appearance or powers.

As these words spread through the neighborhood, many people expressed concern, while skeptical voices questioned the veracity of the claims.

Many people balked at the idea of someone trespassing on their property to spy on them!

It would take a lot of courage to do so, for the risk was enormous, and even the royal forces might end up pursuing those involved, for it was a serious crime in that state.

The Duke's family was not weak and could be considered one of the strongest and richest in the entire province, which gave the house members even more confidence.

However, the cries of the infiltrators would soon reach every corner of the estate, causing the most important people to move to where Seth and his companions had already neutralized two of the infiltrators.

Arriving at the area where the Pennel family's most trusted servants slept, Felicity's parents found the old butler and one of the family's oldest guards struggling as Dax and Atlas held them by the scruff of the neck.

"What's going on?" The Duke asked, not entirely understanding the situation.

He didn't want to be suspicious of his daughter and Grace, but seeing their friends treating his people irritated the nobleman.

Seth looked at another person wearing a device that masked his true identity and moved a finger, causing that person to fall on the floor, completely immobilized.

Seth explained. "These three and two others who are fleeing south of your property were infiltrated into your family. They used devices to change their appearance and strength."

"What?" The Duke's wife raised her voice as she looked in the old butler's direction with the expression of someone begging for this not to be true.

"Julian, you..."

Then Dax squeezed the neck of the person who no longer insisted on keeping his identity, instantly turning off the item the man had used for months to fool these people.

He didn't do it to answer the nobles there but because the man holding him seemed to want him to.

"Abigail, it's a shame you have to find out this way." The grotesque-looking old man being held by Dax said in an extremely pained tone.

Seeing the true identity of this man and the accomplice who had acted as one of the family's trusted guards, Duke Pennel paled at the sight of his younger brother's right hand.

"Giles!" He exclaimed, seeing that his situation was not as stable as he had previously thought.

Felicity also recognized who was responsible for these infiltrators and couldn't help but imagine the worst.

"This can't be... Uncle Giles planned my kidnapping?" She wondered aloud, feeling that her enemies were much closer to her than she had imagined.

"Uncle?" Emery asked as she watched Atlas and Dax leave to neutralize the fleeing infiltrators. "It looks like your family's not doing so well, huh? What kind of brother puts spies in another brother's house?"

"The kind that would kill his older brother to take his position." The Duke said, easily understanding what it all meant.

"That's not it..." One of the men stopped by Seth's group was about to say when suddenly the Duke moved, drawing a sword from his waist and pointing it at the man's neck.

The infiltrators were as strong as the Duke himself. That was what had given them the courage to infiltrate the house of a high-ranking nobleman and plot his death. However, after what Seth's group had done, each of these three was weakened to the point where they were harmless to even the weakest of the people there.

But Duke Pennel was a 5th-stage warrior, a 5-star King who could destroy trees with the swing of his weapons. With these weakened people in front of him, they didn't stand a chance against him!

Swooish!

Everyone heard the sound of the Duke's sword cutting through the air and then a head flying into the air at the same time as blood flowed from both the head and the severed neck.

The dead man could almost see his body as he died from this attack, while the Duke's other men in the surrounding area acted to arrest the eldest of the enemies and kill the other intruder.

They only needed one person to interrogate, so there was no point in keeping more people alive!

Seth watched alongside Levi and Emery, all of them learning a new lesson about the people of this continent.

In Ihaes, relatives would betray people with whom they shared blood ties, and one would not hesitate to kill someone guilty of something.

From the looks on the faces of the people around where all this was happening, Seth and his companions understood very well that this was a violent society where the strongest would kill the weakest at the slightest provocation!

But these people were no fools. They wouldn't just kill the invaders. They would go after those responsible for their presence there!

"You'll never get anything out of me, you wretch!" Said the old man who acted as the estate's butler, who was actually the right-hand man of the Duke's younger brother.

Seth then made himself available to the Duke. "I can make him talk. As long as the Duke returns the favor to my group, I'll help you resolve this matter."

The Duke didn't know how strong Seth was before, but just from this short night's action, he understood that this man was no simpleton.

Upon hearing Seth's attempt at negotiation, Duke Pennel didn't hesitate to agree.

"Rest assured, Senior O'Brian, I will do my best to help you."
