Chapter Eight: That One Sack

Coffee with Tyler went really well. He is a very soothing person to talk to, if that makes sense. He's just so understanding. He even asked me if I wanted to go on a second one, and I hands down said yes. I still have feelings for my ex girlfriend, but I don't know how to talk to her again, so I have decided to cut her off. I even gave Tyler my phone number.

Tyler texted me and I smiled.

"Ooh. Who's that on the phone?" Fiona asked me, and I smiled, looking at her.

"It's this boy. His name is Tyler. He showed me around the school and he's such a sweetheart. He's cute too." I said, showing her a picture of him.

"Ooh, he is cute." She said and I smiled.

I layed down with the picture of Tyler, and just looked at it, over and over, but then I thought about Damara. I am still not over her yet. I was in love with her for four years from distance, and I only dated her for like, a month or two. I decided to text Tyler. I said hey, and he said hi. I asked him what's up, and how he's doing. He said he's doing homework and he said that he's great. I asked him if we made it official yet and he said yes. He said that we should, and I agreed, and so we made it official on our social media.

Might I say, I made a completely new social media account for Isabelle. Ashlyn Pierce has no location on the internet, except on my old account with like two thousand followers. Not that important. I ended up generating 5K so I don't look suspicious and like I started a new account. I smirked at my phone as I see the 4,000 followers and the 1,000 golden followers come in, so I get likes and don't look suspicious, of course.

I then get a random text from a random number. It says and I quote 'I know who you are' and it says that it is from a ? number. I tell Tyler about this ? number and he says he doesn't know anything about it, and I decided to believe him.

-Leah-

"So, if we kill the next in line, before she creates another, then we can kill her, and the color society will be demolished forever? Meaning, we can wear whatever colors we want?" I asked my dad and he said yes.

"Yes, Leah. That is why we need to kill her. If she figures out she is in line by the time she turns 17, we are doomed because we know that she will create another and keep the society going." He said, and I started to shiver.

"Of course, father. I know what I have to do." I said, and I hung up on him.

I know exactly what I have to do. Not a big deal, right? Just kidnap Ashlyn, and keep her as a way to get Alia to die, so we don't have to put up with the color society that Alia placed on everyone as a burden to Dysio's betrayal.

I am sick of having to wear green all the time. Why can't I just be a normal person with no mark, no requirements? Just a normal human? I mean, Dysio, Katherine, and Alia get to be normal people because of their color assignments. Well, Alia and Katherine got their color assignments through marriage. If Ashlyn ends up ruling the society, she gets to choose the colors of every kid who marks the age 16.

And she would start at seventeen, which is on September 20th. That is in eight months. We can't have that. We can't let Ashlyn take control of this government. I know exactly what to do. I know exactly how to do this.

-Ashlyn-

"I think no one's onto me." I said, as I ate the beautiful looking pasta that Fiona cooked for dinner.

"That's good. You know, the point of pretending to be yellow is that you are supposed to stay undercover and to make everyone believe you're just an innocent yellow by the name of Isabelle." Fiona said and I nodded, as I got a text from Tyler. It was such a sweet message. He said that he hopes I have a good night.

I decided to finish eating my food, and then I put the plate in the sink, walking to my room and putting on an orange pajama shirt with beautiful red pajama pants.

"The luxury of all the colors. If only it didn't come with drama and a legend." I said, and I layed down on the bed. I decided to play Flappy Bird on my phone, a little bit, just for fun. Why not?

I eventually fall asleep and I smile in my sleep. I forgot to mention that. It's weird, I know. I had a weird dream about Damara and Mads coming back into my life for some weird reason. I don't exactly know what is going on.

-Leah-

I just woke up and I put on my green plaid skirt and my green T-shirt with a little green flais sweater, and then I put on a silver ring with a green diamond in the center. I look in the mirror to make sure everything looks okay and I see a girl who doesn't want to wear green all the time. Then I slip on my knee high socks and my green two inch heels. I do my hair in a nice high pony, like I always do and I grab my backpack as I head out of the door.

I hug my dad and my mother.

"Remember what you have to do today." My mother, Katherine said.

"Yes, mother." I replied and I walked out of the door and on my way to school.

Today is going to be a pretty eventful day. Not that I know or anything, just what I assumed. I smirked and opened the door to the school grounds. I looked around and saw Isabelle, or Ashlyn, as I know her. I decided to walk up to her and I see that she is in her locker. I close the locker and look at her straight in the eyes.

"Can I talk to you? In the locker room? The PE one? Right in front of the entrance of the school?" I asked Ashlyn and she nodded as I took her to the back.

-Ashlyn-

"What is it you wanted to talk about, Leah?" I asked her, and she laughed.

"It's not what I myself want to talk about." She said, and my father came through the back with a sack.

"Father?" I said, and Leah nodded.

"Yes. It's her." Leah said and my father decided to put a sack over my body, and carried me out.

-Leah-

Perfect. One step away from getting my colors back. It's amazing, you know? Anyway, I decided to start the car with Ashlyn in the back, and as she squirms, I start to get annoyed, and then I get a text from Jack. He asks where I am. I tell him that I am sick at home, and I keep driving. She keeps squirming.

"Shut up!" I said, and she kept squirming. I decided to stop the car.

"Deal with her." I said to my mother, and she decided to go in the back and grab a shot with anesthesia.

Then she comes back to the backseat of the car, smiling, and holding the shot, empty without the anesthesia liquid inside of it. I decided to start the car and I decided to start it fast, as we were on our way to the old ruined castle in Burnville. The castle where Alia and Dysio got married at.

We arrive there after an hour and thank god this little rat is still asleep, from that shot. I am so excited to finally get this society out of existence once and for all. I am so tired of everything being about the color and all about what Ashlyn does next. Why can't it be a normal life where no one has to worry about their colors? It's annoying and it makes me angry.

Now, Katherine and Dysio are grabbing the asleep Ashlyn and bringing her into the ruins of the castle. Burnsville is a ghost town with so much context, it's too much to explain.

I smile through everything, and I decide to grab the asleep body inside of the dungeon in the ruins and I end up wrapping Ashlyn with orange ties, because we all know that orange won't hurt the stubborn little girl. Katherine places the red tape on Ashlyn's mouth.

"Why can't we kill her now?" I asked Katherine and Dysio. They just looked at me with a raised eyebrow.

"We need to make the deal with Alia to take down the society, and if she doesn't, well, then we kill her precious daughter." Dad said, and I looked at her.

"I hate to say this, but it is what has to be done. For the sake of life." I said, and they nodded, looking at the sleeping princess.

-Damara-

I am honestly stressed. I decided to call Tyler and see what is up with him. You know, ask about Ashlyn. I have a test today and while I should be in the library studying for it, Ashlyn and her life is more important to me. It's who I am as a person, pretty much.

"Hello, Damara?" Tyler asked me and I started to feel super relieved.

"Hi Tyler. I was wondering, do you have Isabelle's phone number?" I asked Tyler and he texted it to me, even though we are on a phone call.

"Thank you." I said, and I texted the number. I got no response.

"Zero response, cousin." I said and Tyler decided to text the number.

"I didn't get a response either. She isn't at school today. She's probably on bed rest." He said, and I nodded. Then he hung up.

I just go on with my day like a normal day and I decided to study for the test. You know, be an actual teenager instead of getting myself into this mess and making my life three times as complicated as it should be. My phone goes off with a text from Mads, asking if I could help her study for the math test that I am currently studying for.

I text her that I am in the library studying and I see Mads at the door five minutes later. She walks over to my table with her stuff for the test. We decided to study together instead of going to class, and the librarian asks us for our passes. I showed her mine and Mads showed hers. The librarian let us study for the period. I smiled and Mads did too.

You know, life sucks right now, as we are locked up in the library. Ashlyn could be in trouble and we have nothing to do with it. Or we have no idea that she is in trouble in the first place. Our phones go off and it's a message from Alia, telling us to call right away.

I decided to be the one to call Alia, since Mads's phone is dead. I put the phone in wires and let Mads use one of the earplugs and I used the other.

"Hello?" I asked Alia, and she sounds concerned.

"Ashlyn is in huge trouble. Dysio and Katherine kidnapped her." Alia said and Mads and I looked at each other.

-Leah-

This child is awake now, and I rolled my eyes. I see that she looks concerned. I already showed her mother the clip and I smile at the little stubborn child.

"Look who's awake." I said and she started to squirm and attempted to scream, but realized that there is tape on her mouth.

"You won't do anything to me. You wouldn't even try." She said and I laughed.

"Mother, father, the little bitch is up." I said, and they both walked in. Katherine was holding a bat and Dysio was holding a baseball.

"We were playing baseball." Dysio said and I rolled my eyes.

"Either way, we have to kill her, or else the color society will be permanent, and we can't allow her to make another one, to pass down the controls." I said, and Ashlyn looked so confused.

"Why do you have to kill me?" Ashlyn asked me and I laughed, because I know the information.

"You are the core of the society. Without you, the society won't exist. We'll all live, but we get to wear whatever color we want, whenever we want, with no consequences." I said, and Ashlyn looked at the floor. She tried to squirm again, and then looked at the orange cords.

"You won't get away with it. The color society has done nothing, but good. Nothing but keep everyone safe and together. Why do you want to ruin it?" Ashlyn asked me and Leah looked at Dysio.

"Well, Ashie, sweetheart, this was a curse put on our father for cheating on your mother. Then, the curse makes father live for infinity and suffer by the curse forever, until the curse is broken, and then father goes back to living a normal 100 years of life, with powers. His powers are useless, until you die" Leah said and I looked down.

"I am sorry, but I can't allow that to happen. Father should've been smarter with his decisions towards mother." Ashlyn said, and I grabbed a knife, and almost stabbed her out of anger.

"Leah, we have to give her another…" Dysio started saying, and then he looked at the watch. "22 hours."

"Give who 22 hours?" Ashlyn asked us and I looked right in her eyes.

"To give your mother another 24 hours." I said and Ashlyn gulped, looking at the window in the sky.

-Damara-

"We need to help her!" I said, and Mads and I rushed out of the library with our things. We rush home and meet up with Alia to discuss how we get Ashlyn out of Leah and Dysio's grasp.

"So, what exactly do we do?" Mads asked me and I looked at Alia.

"You have powers. Dysio doesn't. We have the upper hand." I said, and Alia nodded.

"Yes. There is that. It will help us a lot here." Alia said and she decided to grab a bottle of something that might help us. She meditates around it and I look confused as all hell. Well, because I am confused as all hell.

-Ashlyn-

Now that I am alone in the room, I am going to try to find a way to escape. The mistake they made was keeping the keys right next to me. I decided to use my eyes to burn one of the ropes, and now my left hand is free. I grab the tape off my mouth and the keys to get the rest of the ropes off my limbs. I decided to take off my shoes and put a letter with them just to give them a message for them.

It says 'should've kept my eyes closed next time.' to indicate that they made a huge mistake with the capture. I grabbed the rope from the bucket next to me and I saw the window on the top. I grabbed the rope, and I threw it up to the window and I started climbing up the rope. Then I fell because the rope wasn't attached to anything, and so I decided to tie a rock to the rope, and then throw the rock over the window. It was a super strong rock, say about, 50 pounds? PE is useful for something, I guess.

I climbed the rope and I kept thinking about the song 'I'll make a man out of you' as my motivation song, and everything went well, until I realized that they must have heard me. I go faster and faster up the rope until I can't see anything anymore in the room, and I am sitting on the window. I see Leah walking into the room with food and I am almost done gathering the rope. She looked around, and she grabbed the letter to read it. She forms her hand in a fist and crumbles up the paper.

Then I go down the side and nobody's there. Thank goodness. I am safe, which is perfect. I run out of the building, with only my socks on and my clothing I am wearing today, which is a beautiful yellow T-shirt with jeans that are not ripped. I ran out as fast as I could, and I am now hiding in a bush in the forest. I can see Leah looking outside of the castle for me, and I keep running into the forest, further and further, to make sure that no one can get to me. You know, the forest is actually so beautiful.

It's filled with long and tall trees, and it's better than being locked up in a castle where there is nothing but rope and a window. They shouldn't have locked me up there in the first place. I keep running into the forest and I finally find my way back to Sea Shore. I decided to run to Mads's house, since I know where it is from here. I knock on the door as quickly as I could and it is Mads who answers the door for me.

"Surprise." I said, and she looked at me with confusion.

---

"Where were you?" Damara asked me, and I looked at the coffee that they gave me.

"I was in Burnville. I was locked up in red rope, and I escaped. I can't explain how stressful and anxious I was during that trip. You have no idea." I said, and Damara looked at me, concerned. Then, she hit my knee kinda hard.

"OWWW! WHAT WAS THAT FOR!" I shouted at Damara and she looked at Mads and Alia.

"That was for leaving us." Damara said, and I chuckled, as I looked through my phone to see that I got a text from Tyler.

"Who's that from?" Mads asked me, and I looked at it.

"It's from Tyler." I said and Damara raised her eyebrows.

"That's my cousin. I have been in contact with him, Isabelle Mitchell." Damara said, and I chuckled.

"Yeah. I am sorry. I just needed a new fresh start from everyone." I said, and Damara raised an eyebrow.

"How did that end up for you?" Damara asked me and I looked at the coffee, and then at my yellow clothing.

"Not well." I said and Damara also looked down.

"I heard that you two went out for a coffee together and you two flirted, and sat next to each other at lunch, and kissed." Damara said, and Mads raised her eyebrows.

"Woah, hold up." Mads said, and I looked at Damara.

"I WAS BREAKING UP WITH YOU WHEN I LEFT!" I shouted, and Damara looked at me concerned.

"BUT THEN I REALIZED THAT I WAS NEVER OVER YOU AND I WILL NEVER GET OVER YOU, I DON'T WANT TO RECREATE ANOTHER PROPHECY, AND NOW I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!" I shouted and Damara looked at me with a concerned look.

"Oh my--" Mads said, and she left the room.

"I DON'T ACTUALLY LIKE HIM! I AM SO STRESSED AND I DON'T EVEN KNOW HIM AS A PERSON! I HAVE ONLY KNOWN HIM FOR WHAT, THREE DAYS? I NEVER STOPPED THINKING ABOUT YOU!" I said, and Damara looked down at her phone and her fiddling hands.

"You actually mean it?" She asked me and I nodded.

Of course I fucking mean it. I literally just got kidnapped and it's hard to explain everything at the moment, since I am not ready to fess up and say that I was a complete baby about everything. I am stubborn like that.

"Fine. I will take you back. I do miss you." Damara said, and I kissed her with happiness in myself.

"In case you were wondering, the kiss rumor was false." I said, and she nodded.

I smiled at her, and I gave her more pecks on the lips, my hand under her chin and I smiled. I looked right in her eyes and then Mads came out, and I stopped. Damara did the same.

-Leah-

"This is ridiculous. It is! How could you let her get away!" I shouted, and they both looked down.

"You want your life back, or do you want to be forced to live an immortal life with no powers?" I asked him, and he gulped.

"I want my life back." He said, and I smiled.

"Then, you guys are going to listen to me." I said, and Katherine and Dysio both nodded.

---

"So, Katherine, you put the chip in her leg, correct? When she was asleep?" I asked Katherine and she nodded.

"YES! Now we can find her and bring her back!" I said, and Dysio smiled.

I looked at the board and smiled, and then I looked at my parents.

"Now, we have to make sure that Ashlyn doesn't get away from us next time. And then we have to get her again and bring her here. You understand?" I said to them and they both nodded.

"Good. Let's get a move on." I said, and then they froze. "NOW!"

They stood up and started to gather things that we need to get Ashlyn back in our grasp. They grabbed the tracker, the ropes, but we grabbed ropes that are twice as hard, I wonder why we didn't use them the first time, fireproof tape, fireproof rope, waterproof rope, anesthesia shots, and then the spiky marbles, so if she tries to walk, she'll get poky feet.

"We are about to get our lives back." Katherine said and I looked at her, smiling in happiness and excitement for what is about to come for us. Freedom.

"Yes we are." I said, and we got into the car, and on our way to follow the tracker.

-Ashlyn-

"I am stressed right now. I don't understand what I am supposed to do." I said, and then I heard a beep from my leg.

"What is that beeping?" Damara asked, and I shrugged, looking through my phone, realizing the beep was a notification from Tyler. I tell him that I can't be in a relationship right now and he understands.

"It's not from your phone." Damara said, and I raised my eyebrows.

She makes a cut in my leg and pulls out a tracker. I looked at it, and Damara looked at me with eye contact, and then at everyone else

-Leah-

"DAMMIT!" I shouted, and Katherine looked at me with a concerning look.

"What happened?" Katherine asked me, and I showed her the update on the tracker.

"They removed it out of her leg!" I said, and Katherine looked down.

"I know where to find her. I have a backup." I said, and Katherine and Dysio looked at me.

"Who?" Dysio asked me, and I smirked in the window mirror.

"Lana." I said, and Katherine nodded.

-Ashlyn-

Today was an eventful day. I get kidnapped when I try to escape the drama, and now Leah and I have created more drama for everyone around us.

"You are going to school, starting tomorrow, and we are using a different identity for you. How about, Jasmine Leopa and your color is green?" Damara said, and I shook my head.

"I am tired of changing my name. Ashlyn is enough." I said, and Damara nodded.

"I also got Tyler on the phone saying that he is going to switch schools and come to SeaShore High. He is going to keep everyone safe. Especially you, Ashlyn." Damara said and I nodded, thinking about how school is going to go tomorrow.

I can not have Leah kidnap me again, because I know that she is going to be smarter with how this is going to go. I am so stressed now and I hope that school tomorrow is easier than today.

---

The day is starting right so far. I put on my pink clothing and I look in the mirror, knowing that I am right where I am when everything started, when the drama unfolded in the first place. I sighed, and I grabbed my pink satchel, and I walked out of the room, seeing that Damara and I were matching.

Her and I literally look like twins. Our hairdos are different, which is good at least. We are both wearing pink plaid skirts and white T-shirts with a little pink vest, and a tie. I gulped, and I headed out of the door, until Tyler grabbed on my hand and stopped me. I looked right in his eyes, and felt the instant connection.

"Anyway, babe, let's go to school." Damara said, and she held my hand as she left the house with me.

-Mads-

"You aren't going to get her. She's happy exactly where she is. And you aren't going to take that from her." I said, and Tyler looked mad.

"I am not trying to get her. I just know that she will realize that I am better for her and not Damara." He said, and I rolled my eyes, getting breakfast ready for him.
