"Maya I-" Lucas had just started but was interrupted by Maya, "Lucas, I have already met your parents! Today was the day we were going to meet my parents for dinner. How… how could you do this?" 

Although Maya had prepared herself for this but still at this moment she choked up.

"You know how my relationship with my parents is, right? Although they support me, or at least pretend to support me in my career, it has always been a bargaining chip for them." As Maya thought about her parents, she felt nothing but regret now.

"For allowing me to be in this industry, they planned my future according to their convenience. But what did I do? For you I broke the promise I made to them." Maya took a pause and asked the waiter for another glass of water.

During this entire time Lucas did not say anything, he just stared at the person whom he considered to be his first friend, a person who gave him a new life.

Just then the waiter came back with a warm glass of water.

He looked at Maya and said, "Ma'am if there is any problem you are facing you can rely on the security system of Zed Hotel, it's the best in the entire Zed City. I will make sure that this man won't get any other chance to harass you."

"Thank you. I will call you if any help is needed." Maya said with a smile not reaching her eyes. 

Then, she continued as the waiter left, "You know three years ago when my mother had accidentally found out about our relationship, she slapped me for making bold choices but I, I told her that one day I will make you a man who will be so successful that even my father will have agree with it."

It was only yesterday when she was talking with Lucas's family members about formally introducing him to her family.

It is just that now she realized how far she had thought for herself only to be standing at the starting point.

She clutched onto her purse as if it could save her from this embarrassing situation

Both Maya and Lucas could feel the eyes of people who were sitting in the restaurant.

Some eyes were filled with pity, while some were filled with judgment, others were filled with interest as if waiting to see what's going to happen next in this drama.

But, there was one pair of eyes which no one could see because it was at the entrance of the restaurant… This set of eyes had a sense of danger and hatred looming in them.

All of a sudden Maya stood up. "I am sorry, I thought that maybe we could have the conversation today itself, but I don't think that it's convenient today. Let's talk some other day." Saying that she prepared to leave but Lucas caught her hand "Maya are you-"
