Chapter Nine: Finally, Some Rest. Or Is It?

A few days passed since Lia became acquainted with the Lindsey family. The father, Jesse Lindsey, the mother, Diana Lindsey, the oldest child, Ashlyn Lindsey, and the youngest child, Trinity Lindsey are who make up this family and Lia found out that they are just like her family. They speak out against the regime and have moved around multiple times because of it. They were on the run when they stumbled upon the house and found the crime scenes of Juliana and her parents.

They eventually cleaned it up and gave them a proper burial. Lia also suffered from a traumatizing event the second day she was at the Lindsey's house. She miscarried her child due to all of the stress that she endured. She was both upset and happy about it. She was upset because she was beginning to actually care about it but happy about it due to her being too young to have a child.

The day begins as normal until, there is a knock at the door. Jesse answers the door and a frail voice is heard on the other side of the door.

"Hello. My name is Finley and I was looking for my twin sister, sir. Have you seen her?" Finley said in a frail and tired voice.

"Daddy, who is at our door?" Trinity asked in a curious tone of voice.

"I do not know who it is." Jesse said bluntly and in a tired tone of voice.

"Daddy? He looks severely injured and does not look right." Trinity said in a concerned and sad tone of voice.

"Son, are you alright? You look severely injured. Come in, my family and I will take good care of you." Jesse states in a concerned and calm tone of voice.

"No, I don't want to intrude on your day. I'll just go if you haven't seen her." Finley said in a

defeated and tired tone.

"Don't let him go anywhere, Jesse. That's my twin brother and he looks really bad. Also he did something to himself, didn't he?" Lia said and questions with concern in her voice.

"You're coming in here whether you like it or not, son." Jesse said in a stern and concerned tone.

After persuading Finley to come into the house, Lia runs to him and hugs him in a tight manner. She pulls away and looks down at her shirt and sees red seeping into the fabric of her shirt.

"Finley, you got five seconds to explain how the fuck this happened." Lia growled in a whispered tone of voice.

"Uh- I didn't do it to myself, I-I swear." Finley said in a lying and scared tone of voice.

"You most likely did it to yourself, Finley and you lie straight to my face. Boy, you got five seconds to start running before I strangle you." Lia said in a whispered yet playful tone of voice.

Finley tried his best to run from Lia, but he failed miserably due to his self-inflicted wound in his stomach. Lia runs over to him and playfully puts him in the lightest chokehold that she could do so that she didn't hurt him. She then hugs him lightly and lets go of him.

"In all seriousness though Finley, what did you do to yourself?" Lia said in a serious and concerned tone of voice.

"When you were taken by William, I kind of went into a downward spiral. I thought you were gone forever and I may or may not have decided that it was a good idea to try to commit suicide by shooting myself in the stomach." Finley replied in a sad and dark tone.

"Finley, why the FUCK did you think that was a good idea!? You could've thought of something better but you thought THAT the best idea!?" Lia yelled in an 'are you stupid' and 'why that out of all of your brilliant ideas' tone of voice and mentally slapped herself in the head.

"I'm sorry, Lia. I regret doing it now that it failed." Finley said in a calm and sad tone of voice.

A few days after Finley and Lia reunited, Ashlyn went missing after she was supposed to return home from school. She was returning home from school when a supposed "neighbor" lured her down into a little "hideout" for every child in the neighborhood. What Ashlyn, her family, or the twins didn't realize was that the person who lured her into the hideout wasn't a neighbor. It was William in disguise as one of her neighbors. William starts a conversation with Ashlyn so that he can gain her trust.

"So, little one. What is your name?" William asks in a fake kind and caring voice.

"It's Ashlyn, sir. Ashlyn Lindsey." Ashlyn responds in a kind and sweet tone of voice. "What's your name?"

"Oh, my name isn't important to you, dear." William said in a fake kind tone. He whispered to himself in a creepy tone of voice, "Not even when you're dead and six feet under."

"So, hun. I want you to close your eyes for me for a little bit, alright?" William said in a creepy but caring tone of voice.

"Alright." Ashlyn said and she did what he asked her to do. But she didn't realize what was about to happen to her.

He looks at Ashlyn in the most creepy way possible and does the unthinkable to her. He tortured Ashlyn in the most horrific way possible. He sexually tortured her and after he was done with his torturing, he murders her by stabbing and strangling her body until she was lifeless.

After he had murdered the oldest Lindsey girl, he buried her in the most disrespectful way for her family to find her. A couple of weeks go by, and still nothing. Until one day, Diana was walking in the cornfield and stumbled upon a shallow grave. What she didn't know was that she was going to find her daughter buried in that grave. When she called the police for them to investigate it, they dug it up to find the murdered seven year old girl. Diana screamed in agony and the police went into shock.

"Whoever did this, Mrs. Lindsey, is out for revenge on someone who is in your household." A police officer said in a dark and sad tone of voice.

"What do you mean by that, officer?" Diana questioned in a concerned and scared tone of voice.

As the officer and Diana were talking, the disguised neighbor, which was actually William, stood at a far distance from all of the chaos that took place in front of his face. He turns around and sees the Lindsey household and sees Jesse, who is actually on the regime's wanted list. He also sees Lia and Finley talking to him. William gets furious and turns to walk away but before he made direct eye contact with the twins.

William walks away and goes over to the officer and Diana and pretends to pity Diana's devastating loss. He puts his disguise back on and starts talking to the officer. When he gets to the officer and Diana, he starts to have a little bit of a sly smirk on his face.

"Hello, officer. And hello, who are you?" William said in a fake kind tone of voice.

"I'm Diana, Diana Lindsey." Diana said in a sad and confused tone of voice.

"Hello, Mrs. Lindsey. My name is 'Liam Black,' your neighbor." William said in a fake welcoming and kind tone.

"Well Mr. Black, are you new to the neighborhood or have I just not seen you around?" Diana asked in a curious and concerned tone.

"I am new to the neighborhood, Mrs. Lindsey. Why do you look so distraught, Diana?" William asked in a fake concerned tone of voice.

"Well Liam, it's because me and these officers have found my oldest daughter. But we were trying to find her alive and instead, we found her dead here in a shallow grave, just right about where you're standing." Diana said in a devastated and sad tone.

William turns around and takes off the act he's been putting on for the past few minutes when the officers turned their backs. "Well Diana, you and your family should've been closer to each other because, it was me who committed the act.
