Given protection by the God of Secrets and a new name, Wei Lee embarks on the mission given to him in return, fulfilling the role set to him as a Messenger of the Gods, seeking out the ancient and almost forgotten God of Reincarnation. All the while Heaven's Armies grow once more, as the next Celestial War looms over them all. Demons are rising up and whether Wei Lee will be able to complete his journey or not, becomes uncertain. Trying to Walk Away

Looking up towards the God of War above him, Lee made a point to not address him or engage with him any further, instead opting to wipe away the mud and dirt that had accumulated and had stuck onto his face due to his treatment from the divine being currently looming above him.

After hearing or seeing no reaction from the God of War, Lee picked himself up and, after looking down to his chest and seeing no damage to his precious of water skins, began walking away back towards the village where the teenager and her son were laying down and resting after the harsh night.

"Where do you think that you're going?" the God of War gritted out, his voice hard and heavy, tone laced with anger and something else that Lee couldn't particularly recognise.

"Back to the village, Your Holy One," Lee replied, stopping to nod once, before continuing on, wondering on some almost masochistic level on what would happen to him and whether this would the time that would finally get him killed and removed from the quest that he had been given by the God of Secrets, the man too happy to give him a journey and then leave him crippled for a little while, before buying him a breakfast that Lee wondered if he had even eaten yet.

He really ought to check on that actually to make sure that no mould had begun to grow and to see if the food had spoiled or not.

He hoped that he had eaten it, but he couldn't be sure.

"I see that a wretched beast such as yourself is capable of speaking of deference. Pity that you fail to show it, mongrel," the God of War spat out, almost baiting Lee for an answer... for some reason.

Lee didn't care, and he couldn't bring himself to care.

There was a relationship and trend that had developed with all the Gods that Lee had interacted with and it always led to pain.

There was little point in him engaging and then having his ass handed back to him, and also he couldn't find it within himself to give a shit.

If Lee was asked why, he wouldn't be able to answer.

And he chose in this exact same situation to not answer, deciding to keep on walking forwards, electing to ignore the barb that had been levelled at him.

There was nothing he could do after all, and besides, compared to a God, Lee really was a mongrel being a simple human, and compared to other humans, some would classify him as one anyway.

Lee would probably agree with them as well, considering his previous unfilial behaviours and how he had lied to the villagers and behaved around the other Gods.

When the day came and he died, he would most certainly be punished within the confines of the underworld.

He had done nothing to ascend and he had not lived a particularly virtuous or good enough life to reincarnate well, if he even did.
