Old love

She got home and didn't meet her mother. She quickly dialed her number and her mother told her where they were.

She packed the fruits, rice, and chicken she bought on the road and went straight to the hospital. She got there and was so scared of the figure that she was seen on the bed. Tears began to rush down her eyes as she moved closer to where her dad was lying on the bed.

She remembered how her dad would carry her up and give her a warm embrace anytime she came home. She remembered how chubby and handsome her father was. Her mother taps her on the shoulder to comfort her, saying that her dad is responding to treatment. She brought out the fruits and the food she bought and gave some to her mother. She discovered her mother, too, had lost some weight.

"When did it start? And why didn't you inform me earlier? Sophia asked in a concerned tone.

"I thought it was just malaria that he would get well soon. I didn't know it would get to this," her mother said calmly.

Have you eaten today? Eat and go and rest at home. I will stay with my dad over the night, "Sophia said.

"Don't be concerned, my daughter; you should be going home and resting; you've just returned from a journey," Mrs. Bernard advised.

"And if you insist, let us both stay," she said, because she knew well that her daughter would never leave her father.

Sophia sat beside her father and began to mutter some words of prayer. She put her head on the bed handle and did not know when to wake up. Her mother has also dozed off. Some hours later, her dad woke up and saw her daughter sleeping close to him. He was so happy, he didn't know where the strength came from. He sat up and was about to walk to the toilet when his wife woke up.

She was scared at first, thinking it was his ghost, because she could not imagine someone that couldn't stand up since two days had quickly stood up.

Mr. Benard knew that his wife was surprised. He smiled and announced he wanted to make use of the toilet. Mrs. Bernard began to thank God as she followed her husband. They came back and Sophia rushed to hug her dad. She was so happy. They began to talk about many things because a nurse came and said she wanted to check him.

The nurse was also surprised by the quick recovery.

She checked some things, and said he still needs to rest and watch him for some time.

Sophia checked her phone to check the time. It was morning already and she discovered she had missed calls. She remembered that she was able to speak with Wilson throughout her journey. She dialed his number and he picked it almost immediately. He thanked him for all the gifts and she told him she saw the alert too. She told him that the money he sent was too much and that the sickness was just a minor one. Wilson told her not to worry but to take good care of herself and her parents.

Sophia wanted to make use of the toilet and went out of the ward to use the general toilet. As he was coming back, he was surprised by the person she was seeing at her front.

Kim shouted as she saw Sophia coming out of the restroom. He was so surprised by the figure he was seeing.

Sophia! " Kim shouted as he rushed to her.

How are you? You have a lovely chubby figure."How well do you know your own life and family?"Kim said as he retreated from the embrace.

As you can see, I'm good. "Thank God," Sophia said as she made to leave.

Kim followed her and asked what she was doing in the hospital. She explained that her dad was sick and he was admitted. Kim said he came to check on his friend who had an accident and wanted to go and get something for him to eat. He asked her what her dad's ward number was so he could check up on her.

Sophia told him, so he went to get the food for his friend. Sophia went to her dad's words. She told her parents how she met Kim. Her mother was furious, being aware of what happened the other time, but she tried to calm her down and told her that he said he would check up on dad in his ward.

Kim regretted ever leaving Sophia. He remembered how his marriage of five years with Kate crashed. He remembered how his mother insisted that he marry Kate, the daughter of her business partner. Though Kate was beautiful and intelligent, she was too loose. He lost count of when he had caught Kate with another man. And anytime he catches Kate, she will just threaten to divorce him, and his mother will say he should pardon her.

Kim remembered how devastated he was when he was in the hospital with the child Kate was born for him. He remembered how he fainted when it was confirmed that his four-year-old child was not his son. Kate initially denied that there was a mistake in the report. They later conducted another test in another hospital and the result remained the same. Kim could not but remember the child, and Kate packed her loads and followed him. Kim was jotted back by the ringing of his phone.

He didn't know when tears started dripping from his eyes. He quickly cleaned the tears and entered the restaurant. He bought fried rice and chicken for himself and his friend, and three plates for Sophia. Kim entered his car, maneuvered it out of the restaurant, and headed to the hospital. He flashed back to the incident that almost ran him mad when they called and told him Dan was in the hospital.

He remembered how he almost had to drive dangerously to the hospital. The doctor told him that they would have to transfuse blood to the child. He told the doctor to take out his blood. The blood was collected and taken to the laboratory to be tested before it could be transfused.
