It's against protocols," she explained and Liam nodded. "No one would know we did it, right? I won't tell and surely you won't," he said and Fiona looked at him incredulously. "I guess you're drunk," she said flatly and he nodded and stood up. He walked closer to her and whispered to her ears, causing goosebumps to sprout all over her body. "Yes, I'm drunk and you're the only one that can sober me up right now. So, how much?" he asked and Fiona gave him a confused look. What was he asking? How much what? Did she tell him she was selling anything to him? She mused as her brows drew together. "How much? How much for what?" she asked and he ran his finger down her cheek, making it hard for her to concentrate. "How much would it cost me to have my cock buried inside you....." before he could finish, a hot-sounding slap landed on his face, causing him to turn to the side.

Lies!

Cora paced around the entire length of her bedroom with the files from the private investigator she had hired to look into Fiona after she had seen her going out of PK Enterprise two weeks ago.

She had wanted to ask Liam about Fiona the other day but since he hadn't bothered to talk to her she had called Harriet, Liam's mother to ask if she knew whether Fiona was still in town or had left.

When Harriet had confirmed that Fiona had traveled back that morning, Cora had decided to follow Fiona.

She had first been surprised when Fiona had arrived at an apartment that wasn't the least bit befitting of the image Liam's mother had painted of Fiona.

Without even bothering to tell Liam's mother about it since she needed to be sure of the facts first, she had hired an investigator to keep an eye on Fiona.

She had received information containing Fiona's full name, and everything that had to do with her yet, was still finding it hard to believe.

How could Fiona be staying in Zeden this whole time yet, Liam had lied to his mother that she was living in Ridaland? Why had they said she was a daughter of a prestigious man when her mother was lying in a hospital bed, and had barely survived her surgery?

She mused and decided to settle down to read through all the files, detail by detail. The more she went through it, the more apprehensive she became about the situation.

Liam had planned it all just to avoid getting married to her. He had hired a girl to pose as his girlfriend instead of going on a date with her.

What did he take her for? That she wouldn't let him be if he told her he didn't want her? She mused. As much as she didn't want anything to do with Liam after getting to know he not only looked down at her but had also considered her a sly woman, she would make sure to teach him a lesson.

To think he and that stupid pretender had been acting all lovey-dovey to make a fool of her, when they didn't have anything in common, she was going to teach them both a lesson.

Cora thought as she picked up her car key and placed the file into her handbag, carried it with her, and headed out of the house. Though she couldn't do anything but someone could and she was headed there.

A couple of minutes later, Cora stood outside Harriet's house as she waited for the housekeeper to answer the door.

"Ms. Murphy," the housekeeper greeted the moment she opened the door and led Cora to the living room after which she left to go get Harriet.

"Cora, darling!" Harriet called from the foot of the stairs and Cora plastered a smile on her face as she stood up to go embrace Harriet the way she usually did.

"Aunty," she said as they disengaged from each other and went to take their seats.

"How are you, dear?" Harriet asked and Cora smiled.

"I'm fine. You?" Cora asked and Harriet laughed.

"As always, Cora," Harriet said and then looked at Cora. "So, how about we go talk about what brings you here over dinner? I know you didn't drive all the way here this evening just to come say hi to me," Harriet said and Cora shook her head.

"I'm sorry, Aunt but I'll be having dinner with Dad tonight. And yes, I did come here to give you this," Cora said, dipping her hand into her bag and bringing out the file.

"What's this?" Harriet asked curiously and a smug smile appeared on Cora's face.

"I found out interesting things about Fiona Stones... or is it Fiona Lopez? And I wanted to share them with you," Cora said and Harriet's brows creased together in a confused frown.

What was Cora saying? Fiona Stones, or Fiona Lopez? "What do you mean by that?" Harriet asked as she opened the file to see what Cora was talking about.

Cora watched silently as Harriet went through the file, her gripping tightening against it and a visible frown on her face.

"How is any of this true? How did you find out?" Harriet asked, not wanting to believe that everything she had read was true and that her own son had brought an outsider to make a fool of her.

"Well, two weeks ago, I wanted to drop by Liam's company before going to my father's but before I could drive in, I saw Fiona leaving the premises. I wanted to be sure it was her so...."

"So, you called me to ask if she was still in town," Harriet completed and Cora nodded.

"Yeah. After I confirmed with you, I decided to follow her and once I got to know where she lived, I contacted someone to look into her and Volla! Those were the information I got on her," Cora explained and a humorless laugh escaped Harriet's lips.

Her son had lied to her in such a way? He had brought a commoner to make fun of her? She thought as she excused herself to her room.

Once there, she picked up her phone and dialed a number. Someone she had kept to keep an eye on Liam. She asked about Liam's relationship with Fiona and the person told her they had seemed in love, making Harriet even more angrier.

So, everything Liam and that bitch had said were all Lies? Liam had done all that and told those lies to her just to evade marriage? Good for him then because now she wasn't going to let him be. She thought.

She hoped that Fiona or whoever she was would stay away from her son since they all believed they had successfully fooled her. She didn't want to lay her eyes on that lying bitch because the last thing she wanted was to have to do something stupid.

Another humorless laugh escaped her mouth as she grappled to believe that Liam had gone that far to deceive her. Whether or not he liked it, she was going to make sure he got married to Cora. Harriet decided, with determination and finality in her mind.
