Distraction

Everyone was dumbfounded by his next action. He tilted his head to the side and then finally spoke up when it felt as though the room was starting to get chocked.

" Okay?" He raised his brow like he actually didn't care. Everyone let out a sigh of relief at once as he spoke. His father coughed awkwardly. " I hope you don't have any objections to this, son."

Damian turned to the opposite direction and started to walk away. They didn't bother to ask him beforehand, so what's the point now that they've already made arrangements? The tension in the air settled a little as soon as he was out of sight.

" He's so rude!" A woman in her late fifties scoffed and folded her arms up.

" You could've said that right to his face, you Know." Came through reply from Damian's father.

Callista, Fredrick Harrison's elder sister and also Damian's aunt frowned and wrinkled her nose in disgust. " You're scared of your own son, how pathetic! " The rest of the family members could only stare at her with strange looks on their faces.

Of course none of them was going to support her there, because they were all afraid of "him" Callista got up from the chair she was sitting on with a bored expression and glanced over at her father, Damian's grandfather.

" You shouldn't have given up the company to Fredrick and title of head to him as well. Just look at what power has turned that crazy young fool into! " Fredrick's hand gripped the handle of the chair he was sitting on firmly and let out a deep sigh after listening to his sister's remarks.

He'd given the title of "head" to his son because he knew he'd be dying soon. He got unlucky enough to be diagnosed with cancer. Of course, none of the family members knew of it, which was why he wanted his son to get married as soon as possible.

Damian's dark personality had only gained him hate and more hate. He distanced himself from emotions and people. It was clear that he was ruthless ever since he was little. Since his mother died, he always had a mask covering the upper half of his face whenever he went out. Fredrick chuckled sadly. ' I wonder if he'll even feel sorrow if I pass away. '

" Enough, Callista!!" The grand Mr Harrison yelled at the top of his lungs causing a slight flinch. Callista rolled her eyes and folded up her arms. She was putting on an exclusive-looking hat and sun shades that provided her the most sophisticated look. Her dark-red painted lips twisted with disdain.

" As usual..." She muttered to herself and lifted up her hand bag.

" My Derick should have been the one handling this organization. All I'm saying is that my son is the rightful heir, and not that arrogant fool. " She started to walk away with her head held high. Of course she wouldn't dare if Damian was around, unless she doesn't want to be remembered for life.

Derick looked a little bit enraged, but didn't say a word and only left the scene. His mother as the first child deserved the highest share of the property his cousin was enjoying now. He wished he'd just die already! He was so unbearable. " Frederick, you see what your son has caused, right?"

Mr Harrison let out a sigh. His white hair was perfectly sleeked back and his tone a little ruffled due to the impact of his old age. Of course, everyone knew that Frederick was only trying to help his son, but what is the assurance that his new bride would stay alive after spending the next few days with him?

Fredrick Harrison, is the third son of Douglas Harrison. Callista being the first and Darius being the second. They all possessed unique features which made them stand out.

Fredrick inheriting the most unique of them all. His long and silky white hair that rhymed with his skin, just like his son's. Their father had bestowed the largest company share, automatically making him head of the entire family.

Frederick was very strong when it came to intelligence, but was physically weak.

He stared at the rest of the family members without warmth in his eyes. They all hated him after all. It was normal for the head of the family to be hated, but his was on another level, due to the fact that he was the last child of Douglas.

They all smiled when they looked at him, but all he could see in their eyes was pure hatred.

He chuckled as he spoke. " We'll be having the engagement party soon. Everyone is expected to be there. Meeting dismissed."

Everyone got up without saying a word and silently dispersed. Nobody wanted to make a noise with "him" around, except they all wanted their tounges out.

Damian was the new head, but has never called any meetings, so Frederick decided to continue holding them till it was time for him to kiss the world good bye.

The Grand Mr Harrison Douglas stared at his son with a small grin. " Fredrick." He called with his slightly shaky voice. " Stand up and take me and your mother to our room. " He hit his cane against the floor making Frederick frown.

" Why? Your caretakers are here, you Know. " He replied with a small sigh.

" You're not deaf or dumb. Just do as I say. Serve me as much as you can, before my time comes." Douglas replied with a grumpy tone, making his wife hit him with her own cane." Stop saying stupid things, my love." She cautioned.

While in his study, Damian's eyes were fixed on the monitor of his laptop while he worked. He had his reading glasses on while he furiously typed away with his keyboard.

He only overworked himself when something was distracting him. He balled his fists and a sigh escaped his lips. " I shouldn't have gone to the bar yesterday."

Y'all should please, bear with me. sigh* I hope you didn't find this chapter too boring.
