Elizabeth watched him in confusion, thinking he was walking out on her again, but Alex dropped some money notes on the table and looked at her, "Let's leave," he suggested, and she gave him a nod as she picked up her stuff and walked out with him.
Neither of them said a word as they walked, and they walked for a great distance, and Alex didn't stop until they got to a deserted area, and then he turned to her, "It was so hard. I thought you had given up on me. I thought you didn't want me."
