Chapter 014

"Mr. Oscar seems to be interested in this topic, are you perhaps interested in investment?" Mr. Weymer asked with a smile.

 "Well.." Oscar shrugged.

"I was thinking of going into it, since from what i heard, it's pretty lucrative"

"Indeed. But profit and loss. It all depends on whatever side the coin flips on to. If you are interested in investment, i cn link you up with one of my acquitance. He will show you the ropes and ways about it" Mr. Weymer suggested.

 "That would be great!"

.

.

.

After recieving the contact of Mr. Weymer's acquitance, both men engaged in some small talks as they ate.

Oscar finally bid Mr. Weymer good bye after he had eaten to his fill. Along the way, he offered to pay up for all the customers dining at the restaurant at that moment.

Krusty Crab was an estate in-built cuisine restaurant. Even the lowest meal cost nothing below a thousand dollars.

Since he would also be paying for the VIP customers too, Oscar raked in hundred deci points!

Arriving back at the mansion, Oscar crashed down on his bed as he reflected on his actions in campus.

"Does Goldie like me?" he unconsciously mumbled, but quickly discarded those thoughts.

Goldie was the number one goddess in the campus. She had the brains, beauty and body. Plus, judging from the stylish clothes she usually wore, she wasn't from a poor background.

There was no way such kind of person would fancy a poor bloke janitor like him.

Well, except she was sick in the head, while Oscar disagreed on.

Releasing a sigh, he threw these thoughts into the back of his mind and opened the system interface panel.

Oscar didn't hurry to start drawing the lottery. A gut feeling prompted him to check up the two new Skills instead.

[SKILL]

-Snatch (level 1/100) : Using this skill, Host can literally steal the ability of a target by maintaining physical contact with them for thirty seconds. Centi points charges may apply.

Oscar couldn't get a grip of himself for minutes, since the description of the skill kept on echoing in his head.

Snatch any abilities!?! wasn't the skill too over powered?

"Hahahahaha!" he threw his head up as he roared with laughter.

Indeed! his luck was always good! to think he would manage to obtain such a valuable skill!

Calming himself down, he checked on the other skill.

[SKILL]

-All Seeing Eye (level 1/100) : Host can see through smoke screens, sand dust, fogs, mist and darkness.

"Tsk. Just this?" Oscar felt contemptuous for the skill.

It only had a domineering surface name but no great effect.

"Let me not be too greedy. At least i got Snatch" he tried comforting himself.

.

.

Oscar got up earlier the next day. Perhaps it was because of the system level up that he didn't feel that weary when he wakes us like he usually does.

Cleaning his glasses, Oscar put it on. Although he no longer needed it, it didn't hurt to put it on since he would have to explain how he managed to get rid of his eye deficiency overnight.

Offloading the new scooter from the booth of his bentley, he got on it and started his ride to KYC.

Riding a scooter wasn't that hard. After a few trials and errors, Oscar finally got the hang of it. Although it wasn't comfortable as driving a car, Oscar had to admit that he enjoyed the thrill of the fresh air whizzing past his face.

"Hey! isn't that the braggart Janitor Oscar?"

"Hm. I heard he's quit his janitor job yesterday"

"Can you believe it? he boasted about owning an expensive Bentley when in actual sense, the Bentley belonged to Henry!"

"What a sore looser"

Ignoring these degoratory remarks flying around him, Oscar found a secluded spot and parked his scooter.

"Hey Oscar!" a fattie waved from the distance, sprinting towards him.

"Hey Cargo. What's up?" Oscar said, removing his helmet.

"Tell me Oscar, did you really beat Jonas in that basketball game yesterday?" Cargo's eyes twinkled with disbelief.

 "Didn't you watch the game?"

"Uhm. I didn't come to campus yesterday so i kind of missed out on it, hehe" Cargo laughed.

"But seriously, did you really beat Jonas in that game?"

"Yup. I always told you, I am actually awesome, but I prefer laying low" Oscar shrugged his shoulder like he was completely helpless about the matter.

Classes went on as usual. Since Oscar came early, he didn't share a table with Goldie.

 Not that he cared anyways.

 Riiing!

The electric bell for lunch rang, causing many of the students to gasp in relief.

"Hm? something seems off about you man" Cargo said just after Oscar stood up, intending to head towards the cafeteria.

 "What?"

"During classes, you are usually the most happiest whenever there is lunch break. But today, you look unbothered" Cargo said, his beady eyes poking holes right through Oscar's skin.

"Pft. You are just over looking things" Oscar patted his shoulder, leaving for the door.

.

.

"Can I join you both?" Oscar who was in the midst of their discussion, paused abruptly.

"J-Jonas? what are you doing here?!" Cargo yelped.

"Well, I came to eat lunch with you both" Jonas unceremoniously took a seat besides Oscar.

"You wouldn't be planning on sneakily adding to my food would you?" Oscar joked.

"What? am i that sinister in your eyes?" Jonas laughed.

"Tsk. I won you in that basketball game after all"

And so, the trio began conversing amongst themselves as they ate.

Oscar had to admit that Jonas wasn't as bad as he thought. Although he appeared competitive on the outside, he was the gentle type of guy if one got to know him better.

"Tsk. Aren't you ashamed of yourself Jonas?" a contemptuous snicker broke the harmonious air between the trio.

The culprit was Laura, who had Henry's hands wrapped around her waist.

"You are the son of famous NBA super star Alan Hawkins. Don't you find it humiliating to be in the company of these poor losers?" Laura raised the pitch of her voice, causing everyone who was at the cafeteria to focus their attention on Oscar's table, waiting for a good show to play out.

"Hey! don't talk bad about them. They are not losers!" Jonas snapped back in defiance.

"Oh really? one is a fat idiot who only knows how to use his fist. The other is a useless delivery boy who only knows how to boast. Tell me, if they are not losers, what are they?"

"They are my friends alright? I won't let you keep on insulting them!"

Oscar heart warmed when he saw how Jonas kept on defending him.

Looks like his judgement was right. Jonas was a person worth making friends with.
