"This is for Elle. Welcome back to the company." Terri said as she raised her glass of beer, which was followed by several other people around her who also did the same.
Elle could not avoid it either. She raised her glass. And as they were drinking the beer, she simply brought the glass into her lips, then quickly set it down on the table. Yeah, Elle didn't drink it at all. Or she could say that she pretended to sip it to satisfy those people presented at the small celebration to welcome her. Elle would feel ashamed if she didn't enjoy the dishes that had been prepared there. After all, Elle was the main character at the party.
She watched their reaction, who looked satisfied after downing half of the glass. Her eyes blinked a few times, imagining how they felt the moment the alcohol passed through their throat. Was it bitter? Or a fleeting feeling of dizziness, as if someone had hit their head hard? Or a mixture of both?
