The Broken Sword

The worthless swordsman or the broken sword. that was what people called me. my name long since forgotten by everyone but me. despite the fact that I was one of the best swordsman that could be bought. no these unusual nicknames came from the fact that I never had so much as a copper on me. my equipment was all old and worn. some of it being repair. the most valuable thing I owned was my horse. the reason behind my poverty was simple. I never took coin as payment. only rations, repair, room and board. there was a reason I never took coin as payment, but that was my secret. a secret I never intended to let anyone find.

Terror

I looked on in terror at what used to be a man as he slashed the other man clean open. After the coin had touched the swordsman his mana had doubled, and then tripled. The same had happened to his life force, and after he flung the two men holding him like rag dolls he had folded to the ground. The skinny man who had been doing the torture had run as soon as he folded. If I had to guess he could also feel the power growing within the swordsman.

Then his bones had started cracking as his body started to change. At first it wasn't much of a change. His body just grew slightly larger. Then the tail had started to form, and the horns right after. Then his arms slowly came uncrossed out from under him.

From the way he shook it was all very painful. His arms clicked, and groaned as his fingers started to get longer with a quickly thickening membrane between them. Spikes shot out from his spine as he looked up for the first time, and the beast like sound that came from him. Those yellow reptilian eyes were terrifying on his still mostly human face. Then he started trying to move again, and he managed to get his now uncovered feet flat on the ground beneath him.

Then his body got larger again. It continued to grow until his clothes were completely shredded, and his face started to change. His jaw, and nose pushing out until it was a snout. That was when he had slashed the man. Scales rippled across his body now.

The second man had now realized his mistake, and was turning to run. It was too late though. The beast before him now had much more control over its body as it lunged. His sharp teeth took a chunk out of his middle as big as a horses head. Nearly snapping the man in half with a single bite.

Yet the transformation still wasn't done. He was still getting larger, but now his growth had slowed to near stop as the scales finished spreading. He had grown to near the size of a small house as he dropped his head, and breathed heavily. His growth finally stopped, and now it was very obvious what he had turned into. Wings, tail, scales, and the appearance of a large horned lizard.

This man had transformed into a dragon.
