The Broken Sword

The worthless swordsman or the broken sword. that was what people called me. my name long since forgotten by everyone but me. despite the fact that I was one of the best swordsman that could be bought. no these unusual nicknames came from the fact that I never had so much as a copper on me. my equipment was all old and worn. some of it being repair. the most valuable thing I owned was my horse. the reason behind my poverty was simple. I never took coin as payment. only rations, repair, room and board. there was a reason I never took coin as payment, but that was my secret. a secret I never intended to let anyone find.

Curse

The coin was only a few inches away now. These idiots really didn't know when to quit. I leaned back as far as I could. The men holding me prevented me from moving any further away as I struggled to move away. The cuts on my leg burned angrily, but that didn't matter. I could handle that later.

It became clear that I wasn't going to be getting away. I steeled myself, and looked right at the idiot who was threatening me with a copper coin. My curse would be active for an hour or two if he touched me with it at most. I stopped struggling, and looked him dead in the eye.

"You touch me with that coin," I further steeled myself for I knew that this threat probably wouldn't work as I dug my fingers into whatever clothes I could get a hold of on the two men pinning me in place, "And I'll kill every single one of you."

A nasty smile crossed the rat bastards face as he rolled the coin down into his palm, and slapped it right onto my forehead. A burning sensation spread from the point the coin was touching to the rest of my skin. I bent over as the pain started in my core. The rat bastard had back off a little as my skin was already starting to heat up, and redden. I flung the two men holding me into the trees as hard as I could.

More pain was coming, and it would be harder to think soon. I vaguely heard them collide with the trees. Hard. I collapsed on my knees as I held my body, and rested my head on the cool dirt. Even my heart felt as if it was hurting me as it slammed into my slowly cracking, and grinding rib cage.

"What the hell?" someone to my left spoke.

If they ran now they wouldn't see the extent of my curse, and would only see this first stage of my transformation. The strength, and the pain. Then my bones started to audibly crack, and change. My pants tore as the tail started to form, and I could feel the horns starting to force their way though the skin. My arms were forced out from where I had them clutched around me as they started to change as well.
