chapter 144

They found a large cavern that was on a underground cliff that opened to a deeper cavern that had lights and homes built into the caverns walls that kept going deeper with bridges and ladders leading up and down with thousands of people. When they looked down at the structure that reminded them of a city, Zara stares intently at a large dome like structure at the other side of the large deep cavern. Zara recognized this place and there is no dought about it and when her being abused by a man who she thinks is her father to only be given to another man who continues the abuse.

" Lillian I don't want to be here, we need to find a way out" Zara said as a small girls voice catches both their attention, Lillian stores her daggers as she shrinks herself more into the shadow then changes back into her human form.

The girl had cuts and bruises covering her small body, her outfit made from animal skin was old with tears in it and Lillian can feel the girls heartache. Lillian decides that when they leave this girl will also go with them, she also wants to kill the ones who have harmed such a angel.

Lillian pulls out some sweets from her storage as she hands them to the small girl, the girl was hesitant and scared to receive the treats. Zara gives the girl a gentle smile as coaxing her to eat, the girl quickly snatches the sweet pastries and quickly eats it as if she hasn't ate in days. Lillian pulls out a flask with water handing it over to the girl who drank the whole contents inside, Lillian hands her a pill that will heal her from the inside out and the girl took it thinking it was candy.

" ewe" the girl said making a face at first then she smiled as she started feeling better, Zara and Lillian both smile at the girls reaction.

" my name is Kara, what's your names " Kara asked with a smile that would melt anyone's heart, they hand her some jerky as they both look at each other.

" this is Lillian and I'm Alazar...what is this place and who hurt you " Alazar asked the girl who walked over sitting in Alazars lap as she eats the food they gave her, she sighs then looks back over her shoulder looking at the two. They had the same golden eyes which is why the girl wasn't hesitant to be close or trust them but she trusts Alazar quickly.

" well some are bad who had to leave their homes while others aren't really bad but still have to hide...the rule is the strongest rules over the weak and the one called Bishop his family makes the rules here, the ones who go against them are killed or made into slaves and their families are also placed in the lowest ranks like me. They only feed me every two days, I usually sleep up here so the others won't beat me or hurt me when I'm sleeping....my mother was taken there...I haven't heard or seen her since then and it's been a year I think " Kara said as tears flow down her cheeks, Lillian noticed the hand marks on the girls wrist and she looks to be no older than thirteen and these hand prints most likely belong to a grown man.

" how old are you sweetie" Lillian asked while rubbing soothing circles on her back, the girl smiles sweetly at them then clears her throat.

" I'm fourteen " Kara said with a sad smile remembering the people who own one of the general stores took her in to celebrate when the man hurt her for the first time while the wife went out then put a closed sign up and exited the store leaving him alone with Kara.

" I really should go...don't take this the wrong way, but no one here is nice unless they want something and I'm not saying you two will hurt me...I'm just being cautious" Kara said with a apologetic smile, Zara nodded her head in understanding and then looks down at the underground city.

" Kara I'm not going to lie to you, were from above and some of your people are hunting us. We need to find a way out before they find us and maybe you can come with us" Zara said giving the girl a hopeful look, the girl smiles widely and then nods her head and even though she misses her mother she knows that even if her mother had a choice that these two would be turned over immediately. Kara knows that she is now alone with no family or friends except for a baby rock lizard that's in her bag laying against the rock wall.

" yes I'll help and I'll go with you as long as I'm not forced into sex or hurting others " Kara said with a sweet smile as she excitedly got up from Zara's lap, the other two smile at her actions and Lillian caught on what she said about sex.

Zara seen Lillians facial expression knowing she caught on as well and holds her hand, she shakes her head no and they all stand up following Kara over to a small hole that they'll have to crawl into.

When they hear voices Kara quickly grabs her bag then scurries inside of the small tunnel and motions the two to follow behind her. They crawl upwards for about a half hour until they come to a small cavern that they can't stand up straight inside it and have to kneel down. They both notice a bed made from old vines, leaves and tore up animal skin and then Kara kneels by the tunnel they came from while listening for the voices they heard earlier.

" ok I don't think they'll come this way to look for you yet and we'll travel more after a small break" Kara said grabbing some items to put inside her bag to take with them along with a couple of animal skins she has for extra clothes.

(' I'm going to spoil the crap out of her when we get out of here ') both Zara and Lillian think to themselves as Kara goes to the tunnel in the middle of the three thats in front of them.

Several hours later they come out of the small tunnel that leads them inside a cave, they all walk out from the cave as Lillian kneels down in front of Kara.

" I need to fly up to find our camp...don't get scared when I change into my other form and I promise for now on we'll protect you from any harm" Lillian said as Zara nods in agreement as Lillian changes, Kara's eyes go wide along with her smile and a small blush.

" your beautiful Lillian " Kara said as Lillian winks at her as she takes flight looking around, she notices where they are and lands down beside Zara.

" well if we fly it'll take about an hour, if we walk then it could take three to four for us to reach them and I'll carry you both Zara if you don't want to change into your crows " Lillian said kissing Zara's lips, Kara smiles when she sees these two show their love for one another and she would love to stay with the two of them forever.

Zara changes to her crows as over a dozen fly in the sky as Lillian picks Kara up then takes flight, she does some spins and dips making Kara laugh until they come to where the camp is.

When they land Amima and Nae run over to them hugging both tightly while Kara who is small for her age from being malnourished hiding behind Lillians wing hugging her waist.

" everything is fine.... captain start getting us ready to depart immediately before more guest arrive and this is my new daughter Kara so the guards must protect her" Lillian said as Amima bends down to the girl and smiles at her.

" my name is Amima and this is my sister Nae, it's a pleasure to meet you and while the guards are getting ready for our travel why don't you follow us inside Lillians tent." Amima said holding her hand out while Kara looks up at Lillian and Zara for a ok, they smile and nod her head for the girl to follow Amima.

They go inside where Nae starts a hot bubble bath for Kara while Amima uses her skills to take some pants and a shirt to make them smaller to fit Kara and Zara brings underwear over for her. Lillian uses magic to make her some special boots that hides a blade inside them and also a tracker inside as well.

Nae and Amima work on her hair and help clean her good as Lillian helps Kara dress, Lillian stores the tent in her storage and they all five load inside of the carriage and travel as quick as they can and putting a large distance between that place.

Kara was snuggled up against Zara and Lillian while the other two basked in how cute they look, Nae remembers her mother saying she found Alazar near this area and that she must have tumbled down one of the mountains. Hearing the story about Kara made her think differently and that Zara may be from that place as well and she is still trying to get used to calling her by that name. She even noticed how much more emotional Zara has become since meeting Lillian and then coming from that place with this little angel where they both have the same color eyes.
