Destroyer

"Are you going to let me in?" She asked,

"Yeah, sure. Come in." Aunt Davi? She looked exactly as she remembered, she hadn't aged a day.

Davi paused at her mother's door. She pushed it open, and Kelly took in the room with fresh eyes;

"Beautiful," Davi said, "you made this?"

"Yeah,"

It smelled of fresh paint, but it was breathtaking. She might have to crack a window at some point.

"Lily,"

Kelly frowned at nickname, "I go by Kelly now,"

"Lilith." Her aunt spoke, "it's what your grandfather called you. Do you know what it means?" She asked.

"Destroyer," she knew what it meant, she hated it. "Nani hated that name," Kelly said.

Aunt Davi turned to the mural, she ran her hand across "she hated it because it was true,"

"What?"

"Grandpa was a warlock, Nani was a witch; well, a witch without powers, but a witch no less" she turned to her, "the longer you wait the more it will spread. That anger you feel; it will infect you,"

"What are you talking about?" Kelly said. Witches? Warlocks? This was what she came to say?!

"I'm sorry, about your mother; I loved my sister." Her gaze flickered for a moment, "I am a witch, Kelly, and soon you will come into your gifts. I must help you control them,"

"Please leave," Kelly said. She didn't have time for this. She needed to meet August Cline and get started on her investigation. One crazy person was enough for her.

What in the...? Kelly stepped back as Davi's eyes glowed with white vigor,

"Do you think me a liar, little one?"

Whirlwind consumed the room. Kelly staggered back and the door shut with a start. "Shit," what was going on? Her aunt was a witch.

"I believe you! Stop!" Kelly yelled when a paint can whipped past her head.

The wind blew the windows out, forming a tornado of paint cans. At this rate, she would ruin her mural!

"Stop! Aunt Davi!"

One of the cans crashed into the wall. Damn it.

"I said stop!"

The wind settled. Her blood boiled with rage. Damn it! That was a gift! It was her last gift to her mother and she ruined it!

"I said, I believed you. You should have stopped!"

Aunt Davi sighed, "I did," she muttered under her breath and a stream of water formed a mirror.

Kelly gasped when she met her own glowing eyes. What the heck?

"You wanted to hurt me," Davi said

"I..." Why were her eyes glowing? What was happening to her?!

"You're mirroring spells. This is bad,"

Kelly couldn't breathe, what was happening to her? How? A crack formed in her glowing eyes. What was that?!

"You're panicking! Stop!" Aunt Davi said, "you'll hurt yourself!"

Stop? How?! Another crack formed. Kelly felt a bind on her wrist and her glow immediately died.

Davi panted with sweat dripping down her face, "Never, take that off," she said.

As he pulled back, blood dripped from her nose, she coughed more up.

"Are you alright?!" Kelly rushed to her.

She pulled out a kerchief, "you need to control your gift," she wiped the blood, before turning to her, blood continuously dripped down her nose,

"Someday you might kill someone," she muttered, instilling new fear in Kelly.

Meanwhile,

In a dark quiet room, a figure laid on a large bed. Candles burned bright on each bedstand, untouched by the biting wind that blew furiously.

His dark hair rested over his temples, the wind grew uncontrollable and his eyes snapped open, revealing a distinct white and grey before cracking into multiple coloured crevices.
