Chapter 2

Changing his clothes to his civilian alter ego he walked out of his room before his phone rang, looking at the called he saw it was Madeline Stilwell. Picking up the phone he asked.

"Yes how can I help you Stillwell?"

~I need you to come by the office... Now A-train.~

Cutting the call he went to her office while thinking to himself 'Wonder what got her panties in a twist.'

Walking towards the office with portraits of them along the walls until he got to the door, with the portrait of Homelander next to it seemingly staring down at his soul.

He knocked when he heard her telling him to enter he did, sitting down in a lavish office with a massive glass panel overlooking the beautiful night life filled with rain and occasional lightning in the sky.

"A-train here's the check for your percentage of sales, seems like the demographic of children enjoy their A-train brand of cereals, as well as your other named brands."

Said Madeline with a check extended towards him, approaching the desk and took his check without looking at it's contents. Pocketing it he shifted his attention towards her, as she seems to go back to work on some other paperwork.

"If that's all may I be excused?" Asked Reggie, looking back at him with her eyes meeting his she said "But of course, however do remember we will be having a board meeting in three days time at 3:00 p.m. sharp. Don't be late."

Nodding his head he turned and left the office with Madeline's eyes following him as he made his exit, before she sighed as she put her glasses back on as she went back to work.

Leaving the office he went to the bathroom to relieve himself before he went to wash his hands, without turning Reggie spoke to the empty room.

"What do you want Translucent?" The voice in a seemingly empty restroom only started to chuckle as he appeared next to him.

"One of these days I'll be sure to catch you off guard, I wanted to ask if you would like to hang out..... You know like the good old days? We barely do so anymore with each of us busy with something, and before you ask no I won't ask Deep.

That dunderhead would only make me lose my braincells just standing with him in the same room." Said Translucent , as he seemed annoyed with the prospect of being in the same room with their clown of a teammate.

Reggie only chuckled in response before saying " I don't mind if its just hanging out for a beer or two, just not today as I have something to do so maybe tomorrow."

"Something to do huh? And what would that be?" Asked a confused Translucent, the rejection catching him off guard.

"Family." Said Reggie.

"Ahhh alright, just say so after all at the end of the day family is all that matters yeah?" Said Translucent seemingly understanding of that mentality, at this point he's trying to remember the last time he even hung out with his son.

"Thank you for reminding me of that, hey when we do hang out the drinks are on me alright? Take it as a thank you for the reminder." Said a grateful Translucent with Reggie only nodding before leaving, looking at his reflection in the mirror seemingly in deep thoughts he himself left all the while turning invisible as he did.

Deciding to take the local transport instead of using his powers he took the subway to head to the location of his brother and his family.

Arriving at Queens he went ahead and ordered lots of pizza, wings, burgers, and other snacks as well as some gifts for the kids and the latest Vought pad for his older nephew. He also took time to buy the most luxurious Cassio brand watch for his brother and Jewelry for his sister-in-law.

Taking the taxi to his brother's house he arrived in front of his childhood home, as he is both Reggie and The Assassin in his previous life he decided not to separate or differentiate his identity instead embracing both as one.

Emptying the taxi while leaving a generous tip he had most of the gifts and the snacks in hands before he rang the door bell, the sounds of kids laughter and noice brought a smile to his face before door opened and he saw his brother Nathan there with a bewildered face.

"Reggie? What are you doing here at this time?" Asked Nathan in confusion, making Reggie chuckle before responding "What? I now need a reason to meet my brother and family?"

Reggie asked his brother, with a cocked eyebrow and a smirk be fore he continued " Besides I felt that it's been too long since we hanged out, not as A-train and Coach.....But as family, So I decided to come visit. I even brought the kids gifts as well as snacks for everyone." He finished with a smile before he asked.

"Are you going to leave me by the door like a stranger?" Reggie asked Nathan causing him to snap back to the present, with him moving out the way and helping his brother to bring the things inside.

Arana seeing it was Reggie, smiled and came for a hug which he reciprocates before asking her.

"How are the kids? Doing well I hope? Call them over I brought them some gifts?"

"They are doing well, Desean got a B+ on his algebra and khamari won in his debate club." Arana said with a proud smile, Nathan having finished help setting things down came behind his wife hugging her with his head over her shoulder while looking at his brother asked the question burning inside him.

" I'm glad to see you brother, and yes we are doing well.....but can I ask what brought this on? You usually just stay at the Vought Tower."

Leaning against the counter with his arms crossed Reggie only stared at them before he replied.

"Look I know I was never the good brother to you, as soon as I was famous I never even bothered to spend time with you all. You've been there for me since day one, and with me just living it up there in the ivory tower I've seen you struggle to make ends meet without asking me for nothing..... Look Nate, Anara I know that I'm a trashy brother and brother in law.

So the reason I came is not to ask for forgiveness because I'm sure as hell not worth it, all I'm asking for is a chance to be there for you all as you did for me.

Looking back in my life while trying to remember the face of my moms and pops, your face is the only thing that popped up to me Nate. Even when we was kids you'd look out for me...Look I'm sorry alright?"

The emotion in his voice could be heard as he tried to look anywhere but their direction, Nathan breaking off of his wife approached and stood in front of his baby brother before smashing him in a heartfelt hug.

Reggie not expecting this was stunned before he reciprocated it by hugging him back with his face on his shoulder, Anara only stood nearby with her hand on her mouth as she watched the touching scene.

"No matter what goes through your mind, no matter the struggles we go through remember your my baby brother man and an uncle to my boys.

You are family and we all stick together through thick and thin, okay? You don't need forgiveness because I forgave you a long time ago, so anytime you need it remember you have a home with us right here."

Anara also approached and joined in on the hug, before she also said "They may be rich and powerful up there at the tower, but we have things that they would never have do you know what that is?.....

They don't have our hearts, our inspiration, our passion, our empathy and most of all hope, faith and determination."

"Thank you Anara, You too Nate....I just wanted a fresh start."

"And you have it." Said Nathan and Anara at the same time causing them to look at one another before busting out laughing, Reggie seeing the comical moment joined in on the laughter.

The kids hearing the commotion ran downstairs to see their uncle who's their favorite superhero, causing them to yell in joy as they raced down and jumped to hug him.

Catching both of them effortlessly while spinning with the kids he laughed, joked, shared some exciting stories while giving them their gifts.

The parents only watched on with smiles on their face before joining in, and so he spent time with them deciding to stay for the night where they played board games with the snacks and beverages he brought and had a wholesome reunion.
