How did we not notice

My wife took the male child inside the house and I followed her quietly. She turned to me and said "Let me go and give the child a bath". I then said "I will tell you what happened.....but before I could finish what I was about to say she slammed the bathroom door. I could see she didn't want to hear or talk about it so I smiled and knew she would still be curious one day. I went to the room my wife and I shared, though we are poor but we lived in a three bedroom apartment the house was given to me and my family as a gift from one of my rich and now famous friend. One room me and my wife room the remaining rooms were vacant, I and my wife had hoped to give birth and one day those rooms will be occupied. I went straight to the bathroom to shower, when I finished taking my shower I headed toward my wardrobe to get some new pair of clothes then looked at myself in the small mirror in our room, I dressed and checked myself in the mirror and was admiring my handsome face I might be poor but I was still handsome and look young, people never believed when I told them that I was a farmer if I were in their shoes too I wouldn't have believed cause I always trekked in the hot weather, my face would have been burned by now, but looking at the mirror I saw a handsome face with some glowing emerald eyes, I would admit that I haven't seen this pair of eyes before while I was praising my Handsome looking face I suddenly heard my wife screamed "OH MY GOD". She seemed shocked with the way she shouted.
