The Book is dropped

Val was always the one to give up quickly, not the hero type either, as he mostly scraped his novels at Two chapters and never went far. But when he reincarnated, he wished he had more than a couple of chapters to one of his novels. The cruel universe of his novel was a jumbled mess. Thanks to the world never being established. The Hunt (2)

My dull ache opened my mind, feeling a numb chill on my feet. Pulling myself upwards, I almost fell in the process. I scratched through my hairline, and my back and wrist were chaining me down to the ground. I looked around, seeing the dark trees clamp my sight.

As my view staggered down to a small zone, I sighed, seeing how much of a trouble magnet I was. I opened the system and viewed my health.

/ Hp = 1/500 /

I guess the skill did its job, but I thought I would crawl down into the ground, seeing as I was on my last breath. Is it because I'm a half-demon? Because I was only feeling stings in my heart and nothing else, one look and you would think I just got a beatdown.

I only had a few scratches and a black eye, and even though I was still bloody, I was only a little dull on my feet.

Crunch

I raised my arms, and as something seemed to loom around, I slowly inspected my surroundings.

Crunch.Crunch. And Crunch

The thing lurking around most definitely wasn't here for a tea party. The creature certainly did not book a seat, seeing how crudely he walked among the shadows. That's why you don't hire animals as assassins, because they like to prey around, heh.

"..."

As much as I tried to make myself feel better, my legs and arms were already crossed, and I was already on the brink of death! I think I finally got an ability of the main character, and oh boy, it wasn't plot armor.

"Come on. It's the 3rd time today!" I sighed, stiffing my guard, "Mind giving me a break?"

I was already on the brink of my sanity, talking to an animal -- as being mammal food was not on my mind today, nor did I expect to die. And if I did, hell would not be pleasant as I would be the one doing the torturing. Wonder if there are girls in hell. I certainly don't think so.

Nobody would be scared of that after all the demon girl "content" humanity made. But then, here I was, about to be animal food, thinking about demon girls in a cove of dark trees.

"Can you just show your face already?"

A weep came out from the trees within, a weep of agony. I gulped a river heading deeper down the forest. I used my fingers to carve little scratches on the trees. Everything got darker, but my hand was always on a solid object.

I couldn't rely on my sight, as it was pitch black.

"EEEK"

I jumped after my hand touched a soft fur. I was done for, at least; I thought I was.

"Wooooff..."

The animal cried out, his crunchy voice echoing amidst the forest. Putting down my hands back at the creature, I scurried around his fur. My hands felt a wooden stick, and not hesitating, I pulled it out with all my might. Blood gushed through my hands. My eyes grew white.

"Keeek"

I looked down at my palms. One held the bloody arrow. I stared at the pointy edge of the bloody projectile, making my final decision. My eyes swirled as I held it up in the sky. I was sweating a river as I thrust with all my power, causing the animal to stop breathing.

The monster yelped one more time before closing his eyes, tears corrupting the crimson blood...

"Why did it cry??!?"

'I killed a monster, right? That was trying to kill me! I'm not the monster. I can't be the monster! I'm just a normal dude!'

Something was listening to my inner words. as out from the forest echoed a sinister aroma.

'You are a demon, as I have chosen it to be."

Sweat crawled from my spine, making my breath heavy, and my eyes kept swirling around like a whirlpool. I looked upward at the sky, but I didn't see. Finally shedding one couple of tears, I crawled through the body of the creature I stumbled on babies, making me "Regret" - as I extended out my arms.

"Come to me," I said with a motherly tone.

The pups sprinted to my voice. I tightly trapped them in my arms. I walked away from the body, frowning down the way. I wasn't the monster, right? The answer seemed obvious, but I couldn't be sure...

Maybe the light isn't for me.

(Level Up)

"Huh..."

...

003 crouched seeing the red and brown painted cave, the place reeked of shit, holding off his nose he waved back his mercenaries as if it could be a trap.

"We have to be careful, he might be playing with us. His power is tricky, one we cannot handle if he learns how to use it."

A soldier with blonde hair raised his arm, his face was green out of disgust.

"So how was he able to get such strength in his body?"

"..."

"Sir?"

"He's just a weird product, whatever kind of immune system he had was out of our technology."

Everybody went quiet after hearing 003 say that, the man of a few words was rambling out on them, this being the most they heard him talk with his deep oily voice.

But he was trusted by everybody, they take no worry in raiding the base, holding out their swords and knives they marched inside.

After a while they walked out with nothing in their hands, ready to report whatever they found, as the blonde soldier walked out leading the force.

"Sir, we have found nothing but meat and deer skin, the meat is still fresh so he is in the area, most likely in the hunting grounds, a protected area."

003 grinned,

"Look, if any animal comes up your permitted to shoot. If a civilian gets on your way, you're allowed to remove their memories, which is supposed to happen."

"But sir the animals there are endangered!"

He had a heart of iron

"I do not care about it."
