Chapter 8: Bag

Sarah felt the sudden surge of panic as the first punch landed against her face. She stumbled back and felt her lip split open. She frantically looked around, and realized with growing horror that she was surrounded by a bunch of high school kids that were all glaring at her with hate in their eyes. She had no clue what was going on, until one of the kids, a tall boy with shaggy blond hair, spoke up.

'You killed Bryce, didn't you?' he said, his voice dripping with malice and accusation.

Sarah was horrified. She had no idea who this Bryce was, and wanted to deny the accusation, but she knew it would be useless. The kids didn't believe her, and she was powerless against their sheer number. With a sinking feeling in her stomach, she realized there was no way out.

The kids continued to jeer and sneer at her, until finally one of them pulled out a black cloth bag. They surrounded her and quickly placed the bag over her head. It was so tight around her face that she could barely breathe, and her heart sank further as she understood what was going to happen next. Without warning, her captors grabbed her arms and dragged her away.

When the bag was finally removed from her head, Sarah blinked, quickly adjusting to the absence of light. She found herself in a small, dark room, seated in a black chair. The people surrounding her were all hooded, and her hands were bound tightly behind her back. Fear coursed through her veins as she realized that she was completely at their mercy.

The group stayed silent and motionless, as if they were waiting for something. Finally, the tall boy stepped forward and began to speak. He seemed to be the leader of the group and Sarah listened with fear as he listed a long list of questions.

After an hour or so of questioning, Sarah had managed to convince the group that she was innocent of any wrongdoing. Despite this, she still felt a sense of dread creeping through her veins. Were these people planning to punish her, just in case she was lying?

Suddenly, one of the hooded figures stepped forward and unlocked her ropes, freeing her hands. Sarah scarcely had time to feel relief before she was grabbed by the scruff of her neck and violently dragged from the room. She felt a cold chill run down her spine as she realized that she had no idea where she was being taken next.

Finally, as her captors stopped and took off Sarah's hood, she realized that she was back in the same spot where her ordeal had begun; the hallway of her high school. The group of kids had backed away from her, and there was an eerie silence in the air. It looked like Sarah had been given a second chance at life. Taking one final deep breath, she glanced around at her accusers and started to make her way back home.
