Chapter 6 The Hidden Killer

Jason walk's around the camp with his M16 slung around his shoulder he has three big bag's of food everyone smile's when he walk's past he goes into the supply room. The person who is checking the food stock's nearly faints "this is so much food how did you get it?" Jason stretches "bandit camp."

The person nods and smile's "this will keep us going for month's thanks" Jason nods and walk's out it's been two month's now at the camp and everything is peaceful. He see's Samantha patching up someone's leg Jason smile's he goes over and she is finishing up "okay I want you to stay off that leg for a few day's okay."

The person grabs their crutches and hops away Jason stand's next to her Samantha stand's up and stretches "I'm getting good at this stuff" Jason nods and grabs Samantha's hand. They walk around the camp Samantha has smile on her face but it is quickly wiped off when a loud scream is heard Jason and Samantha run to the scream.

A young girl stand's over a body that has his throat slashed open by something sharp Jason kneels down Samantha comforts the young girl. Jason see's the life is gone from the man's blue eye's he wear's a blood stained T-shirt that has several stab wounds.

Thomas comes over with two red crow member's Jason stand's up "this can't be good it look's like someone wanted him dead" Thomas nods "we will ask the young girl here some questions." An hour goes by and the camp is silent Thomas comes out "okay everyone this is what's gonna happen everyone will have a partner with them at all time's anyone see anything strange or weird come to a red crow member."

"There is a killer in this camp everyone watch each other's back's" Jason keeps his M16 close in his arm's as he walk's through the camp at night he gets to his tent. Samantha is sleeping on their bed she feel asleep with a comic book in her hand's Jason goes over and take's the book from her hand's it is a superhero comic.

Jason turn's off the light and cuddles up next to her he fall's asleep quickly with his arm around Samantha the sun light shines in their face's as they lay together. Samantha groans. Jason gets up and rubs his face Samantha sits up she grabs her glasses and look's at them she put's them on and ties her hair up.

Jason grabs his M16 and Samantha follows "alright I'm gonna go and scavenge in town for a bit wanna come" Samantha nods they both walk over to Thomas "hey we gonna head out find some supplies." Thomas nods "keep any eye out the killer might follow you" Jason and Samantha go to one of the gate's and they wait for it to open.

Jason walk's out into the street's bodies of the undead litter some part's of the ground with bullet hole's in their head's Jason and Samantha go through town picking up food and water as they move. They come across a giant building Jason goes in so does Samantha the building is dark and cold Samantha pulls out a flashlight and walk's beside Jason.

Jason walk's forward and the floor gives way he smashes in the ground he look's up Samantha look's down "are you okay?" Jason nods and stand's up "yea I'm fine just a bit winded." He sigh's "Samantha look out" a figure in black uniform boot's her down the hole the figure looks at them and closes the hole with a hatch "well isn't this grand I can't see."

The room is pitch black he can't see anything he move's forward and feels something warm by his feet he kneels down and touches something soft. "Jason that's my breast" Jason pulls his hand away he feel's his cheeks go red "sorry" Samantha groans "my head is spinning" the sound of something cracking is heard and a yellow glow appears in Samantha's hand.

She smile's when she see's Jason they both lean against the wall Jason sigh's he look's around a large metal door is at the end of the room Samantha stand's up "come on we have to get back up there." Jason stand's up and pick's up his M16 Samantha walk's beside him "so who do you think it is" Jason shrugs "the killer could be anyone we will figure it out soon."

The sound of water dripping is loud and the smell is even worse making him nearly gag "Jesus and I thought you smelled Jason" Jason move's forward his hand's start to sweat Jason and. Samantha are stopped by a two way corridor rust cover's the walls and ceiling and they are in ankle deep water Jason choose the left turn "do you know where you're going?" Jason look's at Samantha "do I look like a GPS to you."

As they move forward the water starts to get deeper Jason see's a doorway up ahead it look's odd the door has thick white metal and a large dent in it Jason move's closer he pushes it open. He turn's his head from the smell the whole room is filled with corpses Samantha look's away nearly throwing up Jason walk's in using a piece of cloth to cover his mouth and nose Samantha does the same.

Bodies of people decaying in a large metal room has either their neck's slashed open or have no head Jason continues forward to a computer console that is sitting at the far room some how it has power. Jason see's a video file and see's a scientist sits at a table in the room they are in "if you're watching this I guess you should know the truth about the black virus."

"The black virus was to be a cure for everything but instead of doing it's job it done the complete opposite turning people into monster's we don't know how to stop it. What we done here was horrible if you want to know more about what we done go into the left door and put in the code Sentinel."

Jason see's the door and goes to it a pad that has letter's on it light up Jason put's it in the slides up and show's a science lab light's flicker on Jason feels Samantha's hand grab his arm tightly. Jason see's science equipment laying on the tables some are on the floor medical paper's are everywhere.

Jason see's another computer console he turn's it on the scientist appears again "you are standing in a medical facility that studied the virus there were hundred's of them all across the world. Jason grabs a file that show's a series of number's in columns "I was looking into how the virus was transmitted and that was not only the worse part each person is different from each other."

"But the virus changes that if a person is young and fit and have a extremely strong immune system well we call them the hybrids they are what everyone should of ended up immune to everything even death. Jason taps on the pause button "so the black virus was made to save people but just instead of helpinh they..." Samantha doesn't finish her sentence.

Jason see's something move in the distance Jason pulls up his M16 and as he does the light's go off a sharp pain goes across his back Jason is kicked to the ground and hears Samantha struggling Jason stand's. Up and grabs a muscular arm and kick's the torso of the person a grunt is heard and a orange glowing light appears the black figure tries to punch Jason in the face but connects with his shoulder.

Jason grabs the figures arm and pulls out his handgun point's it at his chest and fires the figure doesn't flinch or even drop to the floor Jason unloads the magazine. The figure pulls out a large knife and stabs Jason in the leg making him fall the ground the figure pulls out a handgun and points it at Jason.

Samantha stabs something in the neck of the figure he fall's to a knee and take's his mask off black line's are going up his neck to his face. He vomits black fluid "thank you for freeing me from the virus" the black line disappear Samantha kneels down beside Jason blood is coming out of his leg quickly "well shit I'm not walking anywhere."
