Protective Mother (I)...

While Daichi was dealing with the wolves, Kemono and her group were having their own problems. Kemono was having an extremely hard time dealing with Tsukomo and Aoba. She was this close to snapping both of their necks and tossing them aside. She had thought that Kohta was also going to give her some problems, but he had been quite nice.

"Hirano, you wouldn't mind if I kill them, right?" All of a sudden Kemono asked, making Kohta sputter in shock. "I know you wouldn't have any problems, but you aren't going to babble top anyone, right? Then I would have to kill you too, my son seems to favor you… So, I would prefer not to kill you" Kemono spoke sweetly, but several chills ran down Kohta's spine.

Kohta gulped loudly, then he glanced toward Aoba and Tuskomo who were looking for survivors inside the mall. Kemono simply wanted to fill the bags and wait for her son, but Aoba and Tsukomo did not agree with her plan. According to them, there must be a lot of survivors inside the mall and if the two of them wanted to help them, they also wanted to leave resources for them instead of taking everything.

So, Aoba and Tsukomo simply disregarded her order and went off to look for survivors so that the two of them could help the people residing in the mall. As of now, they didn't even know if anybody was living inside the mall or not. They were yet to see any survivors and Aoba and Tsukomo wanted to waste their time by looking for survivors.

Kemono didn't like fact that they disregarded her order. Additionally, they were already in deep water. They were planning to take the Leader position from her son… That wasn't going to fly and no groups or organizations should have more than one Leader. Kemono knew that as long as Aoba and Tsukomo were alive, they were going to create problems. She decided to nip it in the bud…

"…I don't have any problems with that, I will also not say anything to anyone, but can I ask you something?" Kohta asked nervously, Kohta knew that he couldn't win against Kemono and he already trusted Daichi, he wasn't going to go against Daichi right now.

"Sure, go ahead" Kemono waved her hand. She knew that Kohta wasn't going to make a move against her, the boy might look quite timid and all, but he wasn't one of those nice guys.

"I understand that they are quite annoying and they are useless wasting our time, but is it really necessary to kill them?" Kohta asked warily. Kemono stopped walking and turned to look at Kohta. The boy gulped audibly, but he held his ground.

Kemono smirked, now she understood why Daichi liked the boy. "Think of it like I am nipping it in the bud. You see, our group is going to become an organization in the future as we keep growing big, tell me, Hirano, can an organization have two Leaders?" Kemono asked with a grin on her face.

After thinking for a bit, Kohta shook his head in denial. "See that is the problem, right now, my son is the elected Leader, but Aoba and Tsukomo are continuously undermining my son's orders. He clearly made me the Leader of our team, but did they listen to me? No! They disregarded my order and went on their own" Kemono growled and Kohta couldn't help but agree with her. He was also starting to see the problem.

"Right now, they don't have any support within our group, only Sara and Kou support their ideals, but that might change in the future as our group keeps getting bigger, they might find like-minded people… who knows? What do you think would happen after that?" Kemono asked in an amused tone, she wanted to see if Kohta could reach the conclusion on his own or not.

After thinking for a bit, Kohta finally reached the conclusion "…A second faction will form within the group. It would like having an opposition party within the group. That could be disastrous for us… They might even pull a coup in the future" Kohta answered in a sullen tone.

Kemono chuckled after hearing the way he explained the problem. "I didn't take you for someone who follows politics…" Kemono laughed and Kohta blushed in embarrassment, but after only a few moments, he finally gathered back his bearings and looked down at the weapon in his hands.

"…I usually don't, but sometimes, I liked to watch what the politicians are up to. You can say that it was a form of amusement for me…" Kohta smiled softly.

"I see… I never liked politicians, I always find them way too slimy for my liking and your answer was spot on. That is what would happen in the future if they remain in our group. Now, we could also get rid of them in a less violent way, we could exile them, but if we do that then they could try to get back at us at a later date…" Kemono explained and Kohta nodded his head in understanding.

"So, you are planning to cut off the snake's head before it could even bare its fangs" Kohta pointed out and Kemono started to cackle.

"Yes, yes, that's it" Kemono nodded her head while cackling.

"I see… how can I help?" All of a sudden Kohta's demeanor changed and he asked in a grave tone. Once again, Kemono found out why her son favored the boy…

~~With Daichi~~

When Saeko finally opened her eyes, she found her head lying over Daichi's lap. Saeko was about to snuggle closer as she wanted to enjoy this chance to her fullest, but she cringed in pain and let out a loud hiss. Her left shoulder was killing her. Daichi also had his eyes closed, but after hearing Saeko's hiss of pain, his eyes snapped open on their own. After bringing Saeko and Bella inside the office of the gas station, Daichi pulled the two of their heads over his lap, and then he decided to lean on the wall.

Daichi was also tired to decided to take a small break while the girls were resting. Even though he was resting, he didn't fall asleep, he knew that falling asleep in a place like this was too dangerous for their safety. Daichi was glad that one of the girls was finally up and from the looks of it, Saeko seemed to have healed quite a bit. The bruise on her face was almost gone.

"How are you feeling?" Daichi asked softly and Saeko grimaced after hearing his question.

"I feel like I dropped from a three-story building" Saeko grumbled with a grimace This was the first time Daichi saw Saeko acting like this and he couldn't help but smile at her antics. Saeko had been composed all the time, but today she finally showed one of her rare emotions. Completely unaware of Daichi's thoughts, Saeko decided to continue speaking. "Daichi-kun, I think I have dislocated my left shoulder, can you put it back in place?" Saeko requested, returning to her usual demeanor.

Daichi simply nodded his head and placed one of his hands over her left shoulder, while he placed his other hand behind her back. He had also dislocated his shoulder a lot of times, and Kemono or Roberta wasn't always there to set them back in place. Well, most of the time, Kemono was the one responsible for dislocating his shoulder, but that was beside the point. So, Daichi had to learn how to fix his shoulders if they get dislocated.

Daichi snapped Saeko's shoulder in place with a loud crack. Saeko groaned and curled up her knees due to the sudden jolt of pain, but that was all. Saeko finally smiled and snuggled into Daichi's lap. "Thanks. Did you guys get all of the wolves?" Saeko asked in her usual tone.

"Yes, we got all of them, but it was quite a tiring battle. Both Bella and I ended up exhausting ourselves. Bella fell asleep as soon as the fight ended…" Daichi explained and Saeko hummed in understanding.

"Sorry… the wolf was quite fast and I didn't have the time to dodge even though I saw it coming" Saeko finally turned so that she could look into Daichi's eyes while speaking.

"Shh… no need to apologize. It is fine and it wasn't your fault in the first place.." Daichi placed a finger on Saeko's lips as he spoke. "I also decided to take the Skill dropped by the wolf without asking for your opinion, you don't mind, do you?" Daichi asked with a smile and Saeko shook her head in denial.

"You and Bella are the ones who killed the wolf, the Skill belonged to either of you and I am sure that Bella is not going to complain" Saeko answered back with a grin. "What sort of weapon did you get? Did you get a Katana?" Saeko asked with an excited glint in her eyes.

"no, this is what I got" Daichi said as he pulled out the dagger he got after slaying the wolf. Saeko sighed in disappointment.

"You can keep it… I am not into daggers" Saeko said while shaking her head.

"Thanks" Daichi commented dryly and Saeko grinned in amusement. "Those are not the only things I got… I am sure that you are going to love what I found" Daichi couldn't help but grin as he spoke…
