Chapter 29: Dreadful
LEILANI’S POV
As the day progressed, I found myself regretting my decision more and more regarding this date with Timothy. I had been rash in making my decision and it was too late to back out now. Timothy had already called to tell me that he was on his way and my father had called to confirm that I’d be ready by the time Timothy got here.
I ran my fingers through my hair and stared at the two outfits placed on my bed as I tried to decide what to wear. I should wear a pair of sweatpants and sneakers, but my mother had texted me to look my best for my future husband. I almost gagged at the comment but held back my snarky comments and allowed my mother to continue.
“Babes, I’m here to the rescue,” Kendra called from outside my bedroom.
Kendra was the only other person who had the key to my house, and I had the same as hers. She was the only person that I allowed to enter my house freely. She was the only person whom I didn’t mind dropping into my house unannounced.
