Chapter 9

"Don't sell it and delete that post, but if you wanted to, I'll buy it from you..."

Mateo left the door and Chantal was left was taken aback because she hadn't anticipated him to be the kind of person who enjoys appreciating everything.

Mateo's looks give the impression that you can always kneel to him or be tied up to his hands. No one would think that, even Chantal had no idea that he also had a soft side.

They were both silent during dinner yesterday because Chantal didn't choose a villa as Mateo wanted. Mateo assured Chantal that she should make a decision about it but Chantal's heart was in turmoil.

It was a lengthy drive as they returned to the city Chantal had no idea how near they were after a quick sleep.

Chantal asked Mateo, "This was not the way to the hotel right?"

Mateo continued to ignore Chantal and focused on driving. Chantal was not sure where this was heading, although it wasn't too far from the TechMiller Corp. building.

Chantal looked around and saw that they were not so far away from the city, they entered a gate in what appeared to be a mansion-only subdivision.

Mateo came to a stop in front of a gorgeous villa and Chantal was taken aback. The gate into the luxurious mansion suddenly opened and Mateo's car entered without hesitation.

Mateo opened the door of the car for Chantal and followed Mateo upfront to the mansion as she looked at it, she was astonished to discover an effortlessly beautiful design.

The color of the mansion was light brown with a marbling design. Chantal was almost captivated when Mateo said, "You don't need to sell your villa just because you wanted to, I know you hated what we had done..." His hand caressed Chantals'

"I apologize for not considering this before our marriage, and let your villa be our nest for that night, this will be my wedding gift to you—together with this," Mateo stated as he placed a key in front of her face.

Chantal was astonished since it was a Lamborghini. Mateo quickly put the car key in Chantal's hand and they simultaneously touched the unlock button as it rang, Chantal found where the car was.

Chantal felt excited as she gazed at the sexy white car, her parents forbade her from purchasing something like this, but now she legally wed spouse was the one spoiling her and she knew that they couldn't do anything about it.

Mateo only smiled at Chantal as the woman stared at him. Chantal followed him inside when he left.

It's a two-story mansion, and as Chantal looked at it she recall, the interior designs are enormous.

'Just like the one I liked in that catalog,' Chantal stopped in her tracks because of the realization.

"Don't tell me this was..."

"Yeah, it was!" Mateo smiled as he gazed roam around the spacious mansion.

The price of this mansion consists of eighteen billion dollars. Chantal's hand went into her mouth and think of a possible way for him to know that this was the one she liked.

'He may or may not have been watching me or hearing me last night as I browsed the catalog he sent me, but isn't it too spacious for the two of us?' Chantal asked herself.

'It's too enormous for just the two of us, even with the maids and guards.'

Chantal caressed her nape and asked, "Err—is not that I don't like it, but isn't it too much? These sums of money you'll pay just for the two of us?"

Mateo merely gave Chantal a blank stare and she was pissed as she doesn't get this man's temper.

"It's only for you, not for the two of us," Mateo grinned as he said those words

'This guy must be crazy,' Chantal said to herself as her brows almost met.

"Who would want to stay in a mansion this big all by herself? Are you nuts?" Chantal asked Mateo.

Chantal knew that Mateo made it seem as though her parents' firm couldn't afford to purchase this kind of mansion, but Chantal knew she was lucky.

"Yes, I'm nuts and deadly serious. This would serve as a gift from me to you as I had said earlier," Mateo paced, and Chantal only looked at him confused.

"The entire mansion and pool will be yours. What more do you guys need? Additionally, you'll have a mini-bar, so if you go to the party, either let me pick you up or let me know so I can find out where you are and who you are with."

Chantal placed her hand in front of her chest in disbelief, "Are you now acting as the husband-to-be?"

Chantal gave him a mocking glance.

"I merely want you to be secure, 'kay? We don't know that your parents may accuse me of being a bad spouse for abandoning you."

Chantal found his remarks to be funny, she finds it difficult to believe that he has this kind of humor opposite to his devilish face.

But Chantal decided to play a part and grinned at him saying, "Thank you for this---"

Chantal let go of his hold as Mateo hurriedly kissed her while touching both of Chantal's cheeks, short enough to be tempted again but Mateo made sure it would linger.

Chantal grinned as she closed her eyes to feel the pleasure, she anticipate adjusting to this for a while.

"This mansion only has one room and that's the main reason I'll stay in your room."

Mateo laughed when he saw Chantal's apprehensive expression as he took her up the stairs to the master bedroom.

"I could sleep on the sofa in the master bedroom, so don't worry." Mateo. smiled as he stated.

The mansion was pleasant to look at, everything was in place.

When they both entered the room, Chantal noticed that it was entirely decorated in old hues.

At the head of our bed, there was a photo of the two of them hanging as a display. The sofa was on the side of the king-size bed.

"You did mean it," Chantal chuckled looking at the sofa.

Mateo interrupted her by holding her hand, Chantal's chest started to hurt and she decided to withdraw her hand.

Chantal was aware that they had a contract prohibiting them from acting affectionately in front of our parents, but they were not present she knew she would eventually grow used to this.

Through the back door, they entered a hallway where Chantal discovered that they were going to a garden.

Mateo said that breaking Chantal's awe, "Hey dad!"

Chantal looked around and saw her parents greeting them while they were enjoying tea in the garden.

Chantal's parents and Mateo's mother and father both got up from their seats to give the two of them hugs.

The old couple didn't do anything but chat until it got dark, at which point they all decided to eat together.

Mateo was looking at Chantal when the girl met his eyes, Chantal felt something soft and mouthed, "thank you."

Mateo smiled at her that reached her eyes, Chantal's heart skipped a beat.

I'm not sure where this was going, but I kind of like it—especially since it was Mateo—
