Eavesdropping

The aroma of the food is enough proof to know the food would be delicious. Tessy taught Daphne how to cook today and she was grateful for the teaching, she won't stop thanking her for the help.

Seeing how grateful she was made Tessy has a cold foot around her, she has always seen her as a proud person and a lazy type, who found her way into David's father's heart.

Her impression of her got changed, and she concluded to be nice to her henceforth.

She carried the food and trailed after Tessy to the dining, they met David sitting on one of the couches inside the parlor watching the twilight news.

They bowed their head and greeted him, as they passed his side heading to the dining.

After she dropped the food she carried, Daphne headed to Mr. Donovan and his wife's room to notify them the dinner is set without Tessy asking her to do it. Tessy should be the one to do it since she cooked, but Daphne knows she was the one that suppose to cook in the first place, Tessy only rendered help.

Arriving at the door she knocked, and notified them about the dinner, then she walked back to the dining.

David got to his bare feet, tucked his hands into his pocket, and walked to the dining.

"Go and call my woman for dinner," David said arrogantly not referring to anyone in particular, since Tessy and Daphne were present.

Tessy was about to go, but his voice halted her.

"Not you, let her go," David said in a commanding tone.

"Why must she be the one?, since Tessy has volunteers to go and call her, let her go," Mr. Donovan said, as he came in with his wife.

"Dad," David said in a tiring tone.

"Darling, since he wants Daphne, let her go," Mrs. Donovan replied, she didn't know why his son hate Daphne, but she sensed Daphne might have truly been seducing his son.

Daphne left them and went to call Flora, she arrived at the door, and about to knock she heard a conversation that tingled her ears, she withdrew from knocking and placed her ears on the door to eavesdrop since there is a hole in the door where she can peeps.

"I used the drug on him last night, I put it inside his drink, just to make him sleep with me, he didn't even though I instigated it," Flora said.

"I would have blackmailed him with my tears, and he would have no other explanation than to get married to me next month, just to prove the love he has for me, but everything fails. I'm just confused right now, I don't know how to save my dad's company. " Flora said over the phone, the caller asked her.

"Yes, the drug worked, I saw his manhood, it has hardened inside his trouser, I just don't know how he was able to resist my touch with the drug effect on him," Flora replied to her friend on the phone, she said maybe the drug didn't work.

"Noooo, I can't ask him to save my father company, how did you want him to see me? a spendthrift woman, someone who doesn't know how to manage her father's company, ... No I can't. I will find a way to solve the issue by myself since my plan to use marriage didn't work out," Flora hasn't finished speaking when she heard footsteps outside the room, she flinched, hung up the call, and flung the phone on the bed.

Fear gripped her, she was lost in the conversation forgetting she was in David's house, she rushed outside hoping to find the person eavesdropping on her conversation.

She suspected the person heard her conversation, she looked through the hallway. but she couldn't find a soul, still, she was restless paddling up and down the hallway hoping to find the person.

Daphne seized her breath as she hide in a corner where Flora's eyes can't reach, she was surprised knowing Flora was the one that drugged David last night.

Seeing how David reacted last night, she knows he is not himself, she just can't place her hand on whatever was wrong with him but hearing his woman conversation made everything clear to her now, she just has to inform David about it so that he will stop blaming her for the incident.

She rushed back to the dining, she can't go back to the room or else Flora might suspect her.

"Where is my woman?" David asked her, seeing her coming alone.

"She is making a call, and I don't want to disturb her," Daphne replied.

Hearing her, David hissed and fired her a hatred glance.

"You are always too dumb in everything, I wonder how you cope in school if truly you have your degree," David rains abuses on her.

"That's enough," Mr. Donovan chimed in.

He brought his phone and dialed 📞 Flora's number, she picked up at first rang.

"Hello Babe," Flora said over the phone, there is panic and Nervousness in her voice.

"What is wrong?" David asked over the phone, he notice the change in her voice.

"Nothing," Flora said with a smile over the phone, trying to cover the nervousness.

"Okay, come down and eat, dinner is served," David said and hung up, he was unable to hear Flora's last response.

*After some minutes*

Flora came down looking gorgeous as always, she has long hair, a curvy shape, and brown hazel eyes, es, and everything about her screamed beauty.

David looked up, he saw his woman coming down. A smile escaped his lips seeing how she walked elegantly as usual.

"Evening dad, Evening mom," She greeted them and pecked the cheeks of both parents.

"Good evening my love, how are you doing!" Mrs. Donovan replied to her why the father remained silent.

She was served, and she began to eat, but her mind was not present, she was thinking about how to find the person that eavesdropped on her until she heard David asking her.

"Who are you speaking with when Daphne came to call you,"

The maids were no longer present with them when he asked the questions.
