Mr. Arrogant

DAY 4

Up until eight in the morning, Phina slept. The sound of a persistent knock on the door roused her.

"Who's there? Enter." She complained as she spoke. Usually, she doesn't lock the door. It was unfamiliar to her.

Sara entered after the door clicked to open.

"Good morning. I had no idea that you were still asleep. Since I haven't seen you this morning, I come to see how you're doing." She says.

"Good morning. Please excuse me. I slept in too late. Has Mr. Arrogant left?"

"Who?" She inquired, and her eyes widened when she realized who Phina was referring to. "You are calling my boss Mr. Arrogant."

"Isn't he?" Phina inquired, a tiny smile flashing across her features.

Sara cannot resist grinning as well.

"Well, you're quite correct. Although he is conceited, he is also rather decent. She says. "But Phina, you have guts. I heard what you said to him yesterday. You had better exercise caution." She issued a warning.

"Yes, I will. Yesterday, I was just angry. He must show others respect. However, that is overlooked. When did he leave, then?

Sara said, "Of course, his usual time."

"What? 7:30 a.m.

"Yes."

"Oh my! Is he extraterrestrial? Even though he slept in late yesterday after leaving early for work, he still gets up early to go to work."

"That is customary. Nothing about it is new. He returns on Friday night, late. Every day, at the same hour, he wakes up, even on the weekends.

"Whoa! How does he spend his Friday? Curious, Phina asked.

"He once told me he goes to his club with his friends and workers."

"Are you serious? His employee?"

"Is it surprising to you?"

"Yes."

"It's not. That's what he does every Friday. He occasionally offers me extra money so I may treat myself. If you get to know him well, he's pleasant. You don't have to judge him harshly." She says.

Phina gave a nod in response. "Possibly. Thus, what are our morning plans?"

"Mac and cheese."

"Mac? Mac and cheese, which I haven't made for myself, aren't my favorite. I don't mean to be critical of your cuisine, but I make my Mac and cheese specially." She apologized a little bit.

"No offense intended. The same is true for me in terms of pasta." She says. "You can make another one or eat something else."

"All right. Regards. I'll come down once I take my bath."

Sara replied, "No problem," and walked away.

They were finally getting along, and Phina was pleased that the house wouldn't have become dull if she had had someone to talk to.

**********

When Patrick returned, she was watching a movie in the living room. He got back relatively early. When he entered, the time was 8:21pm.

Phina said, "Welcome," without getting up. She glanced at his suitcase and considered getting it from him, but she opted not to and sat back instead.

I'm grateful, Patrick said.

Phina's eyes were fixed on his bag, and he could see that she considered taking it from him but changed her mind. Sara entered and greeted him before removing the luggage.

"Thanks." He stated as he sat across from Phina on one of the couches.

"Your food is ready," stated Sara.

"I'm coming." With that, Sara walked out.

Patrick fixed his gaze on Phina, who appeared absorbed in what she was viewing on TV. She crossed her legs as she lay on the couch. She had on an oversized polo shirt and shorts. She loved to wear shorts around the house, as he had noted. He wondered if she did it intentionally or if it was just part of her routine.

Her legs were quite attractive. He acknowledged that. Her complexion appeared flawless, even, and smooth.

He said, "Thanks for yesterday."

The fact that he spoke to Phina astonished her. She gave him a look. And he appeared genuine for once.

"No issue. I had a good time," she stated really. She said, "So, how was work?"

She was attempting to engage him in conversation.

"Normal." He said, removing his suit and tie before shaking it off.

The man was quite attractive. Even though he appears worn out, it doesn't take away from his beauty. It makes sense why all the women are staring at him. Everybody was staring.

"I want to go see my siblings tomorrow." She said.

His phone rang after he glanced at her without saying anything.

"Excuse me." After saying so, he took the call. He got up and picked up his blazer and airpods while carrying on a phone conversation.

She returned to his room to meet him. She was visiting his side of the house for the first time. After several minutes of knocking on the door, she heard footsteps. He exited the room by closing the door after himself as the door clicked open.

He was wearing oversized flannel pajamas instead of his suit. He seemed too big for it, and she tried not to smile.

"What is it?" He enquired.

"Your food is ready, and it's getting cold." She says.

He didn't say anything; he walked away from her. Phina rolled her eyes and gave a loud sneer.

"What a character!" She said aloud before heading to her room.

DAY 5

In addition to cleaning her room, Phina assisted Sara with scrubbing the kitchen floor and the stairs. She informed her that Patrick occasionally has guests on Saturdays, so she might need help to clean the house to his satisfaction. Since he will return from work late, she will complete the necessary cleaning on Friday.

She went to take a bath and put on a long floral gown after completing her duties and having breakfast. She planned to see her relatives. She was missing them. The twins had pleaded with her over the phone the night before to visit them and ensure she brought snacks for them.

Since Patrick won't be returning until later in the evening, and they will be returning from school early today, it was ideal for her to see them all.

She informed Sara that she was leaving and still determining her return time. She then walked out of the house.
