Li Yuyan had thought the man in her dream was Xiao Min; but Xiao Min was not tall—the man in her dream had been tall and Wang Lian was tall. Her hands began to tremble. Xiao Min was dark complexioned. The man in her dream was fair—Wang Lian was fair. There was one more detail of her dream that she recalled— the man had a strange mark on his shoulder. That mark…She covered her face with trembling hands.
In the room Wang Lian was talking about miracles not happening. Dr Ye Jing Lan sat quietly listening. Why was he so quiet? Only he and Li Yuyan knew the answer to that question; Wang Lian had no inkling. Li Yuyan rubbed her eyes and uncovered her face. With tears streaming down her face she looked at the man on the sofa.
