"What would that be?" She asked, having the intuition that Dera was up to no good.

"It's not something much. I just want you to stay with Michael in the sitting room while I get the jewelry I lent to Mary from her room," she said

"You're a fat liar. I ain't accepting to pay such a barbarous price" She clenched her fist and managed to rise from the floor, ignoring her ankle that had begun to swell.

A flood of pain washed through her but she endured it. "There's no fucking way I would let you into Mary's room alone"

"But you just promised not to follow me around again?" Dera asked in an amused tone "Or are you suffering from selective amnesia?"
