Chapter 12 Part 2

(Narrator) That got a bit uncomfortable.

(Nebulon) You can say that again.

(Narrator) I'm just gonna have to deal with you just inserting yourself into my R.O.I.M.P pages aren't I?

(Nebulon) Yup. I like Dime, a ton. Christopher actually made a deity. One that exists within a spell, but it still counts. I'm proud of him.

(Narrator) Please go away.

(Nebulon) I needed to cause more havoc in Stocaea anyway. See ya sweet grandson!

(Narrator) Don't call me that.

...

(Narrator) And he just leaves. For fuck sake.

I don't remember what the last thing I wrote was so Christopher, Haider, and Beluf sit at the dining table in awkward silence for a few hours while Heather and Heddwyn work out their ongoing issues.

Beluf had fallen asleep by the time the door opens and Heather and Heddwyn walk back into the room. Heather had clearly been crying, mascara completely ruined by her tears flowing down her face.

(Dime) Things seem to be as patched as they could get it for now sir.

"Thank you Dime." Christopher turns his attention to his sister. "Go fix your makeup, there is a mirror in the upstairs bathroom you can use." He says, throwing her a spare mascara she left with him.

"Thank you." Heather says.

As she climbs the stairs, Haider asks Heddwyn how it went. Heddwyn replies with. "She can't forgive me for it, but she acknowledges it was an accident."

(Dime) That wasn't the whole story.

"Damn, I forgot about you. Fine. She yelled at me the entire time. I said sorry and explained what I saw after she vented her anger and that's why she accepted it as an accident." Heddwyn says.

(Dime) There we go.

"I'm glad that the two of you talked it out. I wouldn't want you to lose a pup." Beluf says, giving Heddwyn a hug, reaching up slightly to kiss his forehead. "Stop being so tall!"

This brightens the mood in the room and everyone laughs. Heddwyn kisses Beluf back, chuckling. "You stop being so short."

"I'm not short. You're just way too tall." Beluf says in response.

Heather comes back downstairs roughly ten minutes later and joins everyone at the dining table. Beluf gives her his seat, settling down on Heddwyn's knee. This makes the Nekojin blush as Beluf wraps his arm around his neck.

(Narrator) Wait. Who's the alpha in this relationship? Who fucks the other? Why do I need to know this information?

"So tell me. How much did you get for completing your latest mission?" Christopher asks, taking a slice of apple off of the plate in the middle of the table.

"After splitting it evenly, a single gold piece each." Heather says.

She gives the money to Christopher, who in turn hands it to Dime, who then puts it into the most secure place possible. The large barn that contains all of their other shit. Christopher at this point has already taken all his bedroom items and belongings upstairs in his house. Once Heather and Haider move all their stuff into their own place, the barn will take the place of all three of their finances and valuables storage, sectioning it in three places. But unfortunately, The Twins of Doom haven't had time to rent or buy a property as of yet.

(Narrator) That's what the adventurers at The Dark Star Eater's are calling them at least. The Twins of Doom. Fucking hilarious but also badass. Such a cliché nickname for those two, I love it.

"You two gotta find some place to live soon. Not inside the Karthein Inn either." Christopher says. Heddwyn agrees with him.

"Hay! You're in the inn too!" Heather bites.

"That's true. But unlike you, I've bought a place in the Royal Capital with my funds. I've also got a mortgage on a little place here in Nestin." Christopher says.

"Where did you get the money to pay for TWO houses?! And the time to do it for that matter!" Haider screams.

"You underestimate me once again. It's not like I need a huge space. I have an entire territory to myself. The house in Nestin cost me 20 Gold, which I'm paying through a mortgage. It's a single floor with the bare essentials but lavishly decorated with the purchase. And the one in the Royal Capital drained most of my funds, but I paid for the entire 3 floor property with all of its décor for about 650 Gold."

Heddwyn chokes on air from hearing the figures. "What the fuck Christopher? That money was supposed to go towards your college tuition!"

"Will you calm down? Zoey offered to refund the absurd figure you gave her to all three of us. I've got mine, my 450 Gold you overpaid her with. It's five silver a night in her establishment, not a whole new town's worth of money. I've got this room till the end of the month." Christopher explains.

Beluf looks at him disapprovingly. "So you got so filthy rich that you forgot how money works?"

Heddwyn looks away from the Wolfman the best he could, blushing as he answers. "I don't wanna talk about it."

Heddwyn and Beluf go back and forth, the Wolfman teasing his Nekojin partner about his broken grip on society. Heather continues the conversation, ignoring the two. Haider on the other hand needs to know all the gossip, so he stares at the two lovebirds as they playfully argue about Heddwyn being out of touch.

"What I'm finding the most confusing, is how the fuck you paid for them. You're still a kid in the eyes of the law." Heather says.

(Narrator) How the fuck didn't I question that till now?

"Heather, if you wave enough money in someone's face, you'll be shocked with what you can get away with at 13. Plus, it's only a few months till my birthday. I just said I was 15, they didn't bother to question me." Christopher says.

"You definitely act in your 30s but that's besides the point. You do realise you'll be fined for fraudulent documents right?" Heather says.

(Narrator) About that.

"Yeah, I doubt that. King Shavik has already taken care of it. I don't even pay tax thanks to an arrangement we made." Christopher says.

Heather slams her head against the hard wooden table. "For fucks sake! Why do I even try to make sense of shit anymore?"

"Look, you two are getting rings, so you can visit the dimension if you like. If I'm not there, then Dime can tell me. We can still talk through him." Christopher says.

"No, I get all that. It's just that we'll both need to find places near you to start college too. I only just realised that" Heather says.

"You mean you do." Haider says.

Heather lifts her head up slowly at her twin brother. "What?" she says, frustration brewing in her throat.

"Remember that merchant?" Haider asks.

"Yeah, what about him?" Heather says.

"Well I asked him to hold a property for sale in the capital. I had a hunch this would happen." Haider says, oblivious to Heather's face full of hatred directed at him.

"Why didn't you tell ME about this?!" Heather says, her face going beet red with anger.

"Because then it would be your own fault if you can't get a place in the capital. Look, it's called the capital for a reason. Houses sell fast when they go for sale. You can't be mad at me if I took some initiative for once!" Haider says, backing himself into Hayle.

"Yeah, right. Fuck it. I got an idea, Queen Viridiana wants me to make her a dress. I'm sure instead of payment she could find me a nice, modest place to buy." Heather says.

"Her Majesty might pay you exorbitantly. Why not ask for a house instead of payment." Beluf says, satisfied with the Heddwyn tomato he's made, somehow even through his black fur.

"However, I'm not really going to get the chance to meet with her. We got a new mission next week." Heather says.

"Well lucky you. I gotta go to the capital to make King Shavik a ring. So I'll just ask her to meet you here!" Christopher says.

"I love and hate how convenient everything is for you right now. Beluf will be here with you the entire time. Right Hun?" Heddwyn says.

"Yeah, sure. I've gotten used to living here anyway." Beluf says. "But only if Heddwyn gets a ring."

"As long as you keep your 'fun time' in your house, sure." Christopher says. "That makes seven ruby rings. One King Shavik can make himself. And another one Zoey already has. It's a good thing I bought a bunch the other day. Can you bring me 4 ruby rings please Dime?"

The rings appear in the air just above the table and fall onto it. Christopher hands everyone a ring and takes them all back to the dimension entrance. One by one each ring is connected to Dime, allowing each of them access to the door by calling the phrase that only activates to their voice.

(Dime) It is starting to get late sir. I will be closing the portal when the sun sets as you commanded.

"Right, dad. Out. Unless you plan on fucking the potential second father." Christopher says, Beluf starts bursting with laughter.

"Haider, take Hayle and fuck off. I'll see you tomorrow morning." Christopher continues, practically forcing a hug and pushing him out.

"Heather, I need you to take a look at the apple tree before you go. For some reason we ain't getting fruit." Christopher says, shoving Heather towards the tree.

Heather came back ten minutes later having fixed the issue and saying it was due to lack of pollinators. She suggested getting a bee farm to help prevent this issue in the future. She hugs everyone and exits the dimension.

Christopher turns around, still seeing Heddwyn with Beluf. "Dime, you can close the door now. And make sure they get their privacy." The simulated sky starts to darken as Christopher heads back to his house. Leaving Beluf and Heddwyn alone.
