Chapter 088 - Toy Dog, NO!

Upon hearing Coulson's suggestion, Nick Fury had to think it over. He recalled the agents available at the bureau who could undertake this mission, and it seemed that aside from Black Widow, there was also Barbara Morse.

However, Black Widow was currently on an external mission and had not returned yet, so it seemed that sending Barbara Morse was the best option.

"Go and contact Barbara Morse. I remember there was an assassin at the Continental Hotel in the archives who bears a strong resemblance to her. This might be a breakthrough," 

Coulson also thought about this point and smiled, saying, "Director, I'll contact Barbara right away." 

After Coulson left, Nick Fury began thinking about the unique symbols on Charles's three subordinates. He was determined to investigate this point. Any organization, as long as it existed, would leave traces unless it was a newly established force.

On the other side, Tony Stark, dressed in suits, arrived at an Air Force base to visit his good friend, Colonel Rhodes.

Tony made a few jokes at Rhodes' expense in front of his soldiers, prompting Rhodes to dismiss them, and the two friends had a private conversation.

Rhodes patted Stark on the shoulder and said with a smile, "I really didn't expect this."

Tony turned to Rhodes and asked, "Expect what?"

Rhodes smiled and said, "I swear, I didn't expect you to recover so quickly."

Tony shrugged and said, "I can barely walk."

Rhodes crossed his arms and asked, "Really?"

Tony replied seriously, "Rhodes, I'm working on something big. I came here to ask you to join me."

Rhodes raised an eyebrow and looked around, saying, "You've got everyone here all excited, you know."

"I mean, your amazing performance at the press conference, it's truly impressive!"

Hearing Rhodes' comments, Tony said, "This time, it's not about military hardware. I won't be developing those anymore. This is different."

Rhodes frowned and asked, "Have you really become a pacifist?"

Tony explained, "Listen to what I have to say."

Rhodes interrupted, saying, "No, what you need is to think things through first."

Seeing Tony suddenly burst into laughter, Rhodes said seriously, "I'm serious."

Tony suppressed his smile and said, "Alright!"

Rhodes then said, "It's good to see you, Tony."

With that, Rhodes left, and it was clear that he had no idea what he had just missed.

After being turned down by Rhodes, Tony returned to his laboratory. He woke up J.A.R.V.I.S. and instructed him, "I need to create a new project file, codenamed Mark II."

J.A.R.V.I.S. inquired, "Do you want to store it in the Stark Industries central database?"

Tony transferred the model of Mark I to a virtual image and said, "I don't know who to trust right now, so for the time being, let's save all the files in my private server."

J.A.R.V.I.S. asked, "Is this a top-secret project?"

Tony, still looking at Mark I, replied, "I don't want it to fall into the wrong hands."

Then, for some reason, Tony's mind drifted to Charles Doyle's image, especially that ninja dog, Parker. 

As for making a mechanical dog for himself? That wasn't in his consideration. What would be next, uploading J.A.R.V.I.S. into a toy? Did he need a toy dog? NO!

Tony Stark shook off these thoughts and began his research on Mark II.

On the other side, in Charles's office, Kingpin paid another visit.

Kingpin greeted him warmly, saying, "Hi, Charles Doyle."

Charles shook Kingpin's extended hand and smiled, "Kingpin, are you satisfied with the result this time?"

Kingpin's face lit up with a smile as he replied, "Satisfied? Very satisfied. You have no idea how surprised I am."

"Do you know that your operatives not only took care of Madame Gao but also conveniently eliminated that masked weirdo?"

Hearing the mention of the masked weirdo, Charles's expression became strange as he asked, "Daredevil?"

Kingpin laughed heartily and said, "Yes, that guy."

After a brief handshake between Charles and Kingpin, they sat down on the sofa in the lounge area.

Charles asked, "What would you like to drink?"

Kingpin replied, "A glass of whiskey."

Bullseye also chimed in, "I'll have a whiskey too, with ice."

Charles ordered, "Iruka, bring a bottle of whiskey and an ice bucket."

Iruka, who was sitting at the service desk, skillfully prepared the drinks, placed a bottle of whiskey and three glasses on a tray, and walked over to their table.

Seeing Iruka about to leave, Charles asked, "Iruka, did anyone try to stop you yesterday on your way out?"

Iruka thought for a moment and replied, "Yes, when we were leaving the building yesterday, there was indeed someone who tried to intercept us. He wanted to take Madame Gao and have us surrender to the police."

"I'm not sure if it was the person you're referring to, but that guy didn't seem very strong. He was defeated with just a few punches from Lee."

Upon hearing about Daredevil attempting to rescue Madame Gao, both Charles Doyle and Kingpin were surprised.

What was going on?

Charles realized that Daredevil must have misunderstood something and thought Madame Gao was a good person.

Kingpin and his bodyguard bullseye were equally astonished that Daredevil was defeated with just a few punches by a young man named Rock Lee.

Even someone like Bullseye had failed several times to eliminate Daredevil.

It seemed that Charles Doyle's subordinates were truly exceptional.

After learning about the situation, Charles said, "Alright, I understand. You can go back to your work."

Iruka then excused himself and returned to the service desk, where he began reviewing the bounties available at the Continental Hotel.
