A portal opened on the moon in which three robed figures emerged, one Male and two Female: "Alright, let's get to work, I want to get back in time for the Divine Star Dance performance." The Male guard said while looking matter of fact at the other two standing by him. One of the girls spoke "Pacience Kaldor, this sector has supposedly been dormant since from the beginning of the sixth era. This will not be a simple task." The girl who spoke was a thin older lady, being somewhere in her mid 40's by earth standards.
She had on a pitch-black robe that, when not angled in the direct view of the moon floor, fully blended in with the void around her and made it look like there was just a floating head. She had slight wrinkles on her face and her hair was thin and just as pitch black as her robes.
"Agreed!" The other woman said, who was on the bulkier side and looked like a bear no fur. She further accentuated this look as she had mahogany brown hair that was thick and fluffy. She had robes of cinnamon brown on and a large weapon on her back that resembled a club only a giant troll aesthetically could use and with a glowing blue orb at the very tip.
The man looked like any ordinary 20–30-year-old man in ancient China. He had a manbun and deep ocean blue robes and was clean shaven.
Looking at the planet in front of them, all three of them sprang into action. In front of the man appeared a glass sphere the size of a small horse glowing with mystical energy. The other two turned serious as a massive shockwave suddenly exploded from the sphere. All three of them were unfazed by the shockwave which seemed to have just passed right through them, however it didn't stop there; It kept going for as far as the eye could see.
Unbeknownst to the citizens of Earth, the planet's core deep within its center shuddered and started shifting, changing. The three stared at each other in a silent question for a split second ("Are we done here?") and then all turned to the portal still open where it had originally opened and walked through. The Portal closed without a sound; no one to witness the never-ending evolution of earth.
---------------
Darren worked on a farm in a small village only about 50 miles from Shenzhen. He was a orphan who was taken in by a family of farmers when he was a baby. His stepfather is named Dan and stepmother is Sharrol. They were terrible caregivers and Darren has been convinced his whole life that the only reason they took him in in the first place was for the extra labor because that is what Darren has been doing ever since he was old enough to walk.
In the beginning, they were patient with Darren and would teach him about all the farm duties such as feeding all the livestock and taking care of the crops, however as soon as Darren was old enough and smart enough to deal with everything on his own, Dan and Sharrol became very distant. Darren theorized that this was because Sharrol had gotten pregnant with a baby girl.
Darren was 7 when his little sister, Miranda was born and ever since that day Dan and Sharrol hated him. Darren at that age couldn't understand the sudden shift in their way of treating him. They couldn't even look at him most of the time and instead would send him out to do the farm work the rest of the day while they took care of Miranda.
In the beginning they would at least give him breakfast, but one day after a particularly bad day of work, Darren had started crying in front of Sharrol and she lost it. That day Dan started paying Darren one copper a week for his work since Sharrol decided she didn't want to see him anymore which meant feeding him too.
Darren moved into the animal barn and would buy a single slice of bread every week to last. He occupied a storage closet just behind the horse stalls. From then on he would only occasionally see Dan for payments and he never saw Sharrol or Miranda ever again.
It was Darren's fifteenth birthday and he sat on the makeshift hay bed staring at the sunset out the open barn door while unconsciously fiddling with two shiny copper coins, one in each hand.
Darren had just finished his daily work and was getting ready to accept his weekly payment from Dan, who arrived every Sunday at sunset to pay Darren his copper coin. Today was no exception as Darren heard the crunching of gravel under boot and quickly stuffed the two copper coins into a pouch in his dirty rags and waited for his adoptive father to appear.
He had gone hungry too many nights trying to save up his money for Dan to see it and steal it as there was a rule that didn't allow Darren to have more than one copper coin at a time as they did not want him buying anything besides food with his money.
"Here, Next year is your last year living here since you'll be sixteen and an adult. Sharrol and Miranda will like that I guess since they both hate your guts. I still don't know why but whatever keeps the misses happy." Dan remarked with a short shrug.
He then tossed over two shiny copper coins and said, "Go get yourself something good to eat for your birthday." Dan then turned with indifference and walked away back towards the manor.
Darren was shocked as Dan had never given him anything extra. The only act of non-hatred Dan had ever shown towards Darren was to talk way too much when he visited as a way to entertain him, but Darren suspected this was unintentional. Now with an extra whole week's pay as a birthday present, Darren thought Dan was not too bad after all.
Darren walked down the gravel road which was slowly fading in the light. Only thirty minutes of walking was required to make it to his go-to place to buy food. The bread market was the cheapest place for people to get food in the town with a loaf of bread only costing a copper. However Darren didn't stop at the Bread market and instead continued and arrived at a similarly sized shop that was labled 'Local Butcher'.
Darren walked in the shop and gawked at all the meat that he was never able to meet try for it was far too expensive. The man sitting behind the counter was just getting ready to butcher a cow for future selling but instead noticed the bumpkin enter his shop.
"Hello kid, you are sure you're in the right place with those rags on?" The man asked which startled Darren into focusing on the man. He wore a blood red apron and was completely bald
"No sir, I would like to buy one chicken please" as he held out the four coppers in his hand.
Only a little surprised, the man nodded and went to the back to prepare the chicken.
" Set the money on the counter I'll be right there." the man's voice rang from the back and Darren did as instructed.
A few seconds later, the man came back with a head sized sack with a wooden clamp acting as a seal.
"Alright young man, here you are with one chicken skinned and ready to cook!" said the man while picking up the coins on the counter and putting them somewhere behind the counter. Darren quickly unclipped the bag to check then resealed it and excitedly left the store with his prize. When Darren got back, he started a fire with some spare hay and used some sticks to set up a place over the fire where the chicken could cook.
Once the chicken was tied and strung over the fire, Darren carefully started rotating it. Once the chicken was golden brown, he untied it and started tearing into it. This was the first time Darren had ate anything besides bread and berries he would pick.
The moment the juicy white meat touched his tongue, Darren made a vow to himself that he would never starve himself ever again, so long as he could get rich and powerful in the future, he would have the most luxurious meat dinners every night.
Late after Darren fell asleep an invisible shockwave hit Earth causing a barely perceptible shutter to shake the globe.
